Finding Love

Finally

Today I ran into a guy and it was the best day of my life. I was so afraid to even look up at this guy, because I didn't know how he would react. Then I felt a hand lift my chin up. His fingers felt amazing on my face and when they were gone I could feel tingles left behind. Neither one of us said anything. Then his voice broke the silence.

"Maybe you should keep your head up when you walk." he said.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to run into you."

"It's alright. I just don't know why you would want to hide such a beautiful face."

I could feel my face turn bright red. "Um, thank you."

"My name is Alexander Jones." he said.

"My name is Cora Hodges."

We ended up walking to the same place of work and the same department. It was getting quite awkward for me at this point, because I've never really liked someone this much. I started to feel flushed. Before we walked into our offices he stopped and grabbed my hand. Then his fingers brushed my face once again to push hair out of my face.

"I never knew you worked here." he said.

"I haven't worked here very long."

"Well, it even looks like we work in the same department." he said.

"We do. I will see you later."

I didn't even give him a chance to say anything else before I walked off. I went straight to my desk and started working. Although, I couldn't stop thinking of Alexander. He has the most amazing eyes, smile, and pretty much everything. He just seems too perfect for him to like me. I've never had a boyfriend and I don't know if I'm ready for one. I'm pretty much an adult now and I don't have anyone holding me back. I've been held back from finding the love of my life way too long. This is my life now and I am going to live it my way.

"Cora, may I see you for a moment?" asked Alexander.

"Alright." I said following him to his office.

"Look I know there aren't supposed to be any work romances, but I can't help it. I would like to ask you on a date." he said.

"I will go on a date with you." I said.

"I thought I'd get a little more push back from you." he said.

"Well, I've decided to take my life into my own hands and not let anything get in the way of love. No matter if we just met today or not."

"Alright, we can leave together after work tonight." he said

"That's fine with me."

I walked away back to my desk smiling proudly, because I had allowed myself to get past a personal block. I used to let someone who was related to me control my life, but now I'm no longer afraid. I'm ready to find my soulmate.
