This past year has been pretty hectic for my family, especially after my twin brother disappeared out of thin air. Hawkins, Indiana has always felt like a safe place. But for some reason these past few months it hasn't.
"I'll be back to pick you both up at 10pm sharp. No walking or biking home" my mom said as she was dropping us off at the arcade. "Yeah yeah we know" Will said. He got off the car and pulled the seat forward to let me out. I closed the door and my mom drove off.
We walked inside and we meet up with the boys. Mike, Lucas, and Dustin we're my second group of friends. "Alyssa, Will, over here!" Lucas waved over. We walked over to see Dustin playing Dragon's Lair. I stood next to Mike and watched Dustin try to beat the game.
I felt Will tug on my sweater. I looked over and he gave me weird look. Will was the only one that knew about my crush on Mike. He found out shortly after we found him and he was in awe. Deep down I knew that me and Mike will never be a thing. When Will was gone, we meet another girl.
We meet Eleven in the woods as we were trying to find my brother. We took her back to Mike's and the two of them instantly clicked. Ever since she left, Mike has been talking about her nonstop. "No no no no!" Dustin cried as he lost to the game again. "But you'll get there on day. But until then, Princess Daphne is still mine" Lucas chuckled.
"I'm still tops on Centipede and Dig Dug" Dustin argued back. I looked over to see Kieth walking our way. "I'm not so sure about that" he said as he put another Cheeto puff in his mouth. Dustin ran over to Centipede and then Dig Dug.
"No no no!" he cried. We looked at the score board to see "MAD MAX" in the lead. "Who's mad max?" I asked. "Better than Dustin" Kieth said. I looked over at Dustin to see him flipping him off. "No way 751,300 points!" Will said.
The boys kept arguing with Keith as I looked back the score board. Dustin was pretty bummed out about it. I looked over to see Will not by my side. "Will" I said. I walked all over the arcade and I didn't find him.
I walked outside to see Will standing on the sidewalk and looking at the horizon. "Will!" I screamed. He turned around and kept his gaze on me. "Are you okay?" I asked. He nodded and walked my way. "Come on, lets go play some games before mom comes" I said as we walked inside.
