It was the first day of what was to be an "extraordinary" at Chepard High School. Claudia Houston, was dressed for the day. Blue Blouse and a knee skirt. With blue earrings to match her sky blue eyes. She was obsessed with that colour, a bit to obsessed she thought.
"Don't worry sis, everything is alright." Her sister, Clara, said.
"I'm just worried. Will people judge me or make fun of me?" Replied Claudia.
"No, of course not."
"Are you sure? Because I am like, so stressed."
"Oh quit your whinin'. You'll be fine"
"Oh Girls!" Synthia, her mother, called out.
"Coming!" Responded Clara. "You can do this, mum and I had to go through the exact same experience."
"Okay." Claudia said.
As they were walking to the car for her mom to drop her off (Clara stayed back to get ready for a video call from her boss on her Imac), she noticed how the other kids were dressed so, casually so, laid back like it was a Saturday house party or something like that. As they drove past the new neighbourhood they lived in in Ontario, she was finally able to explore the place like when she was 6 in tehir new house on the east coast. Claudia remembered those times. That was when her father died peacfully in a hospital in Winnepeg of stage 4 colon cancer . She was trying to hold back her tears. As she was day dreaming in the car, they finally arrived at Chepard High School. As soon as she stepped out of the car and goodbye to her mother, the first thing shr noticed wasn't the gardens or the campus, the kids or the sad parents watching their "precious baby" go to high school, but just one singular person. A boy. Average hieght and 8 on a 1-10 scale of muscularism, being 1 the scrawniest. He had short, but wavy blonde hair that seemed to glow in the sun. But she couldn't tell if that is what she was imagining or if it was true. He had a slick and shiny leather jacket with a pair of ripped blue jeans. She could easily put him on the watch out for list. He looked at her. But there was sense of calmness, passion and intensity as he looked into her eyes and the emotion changed from one to another. Happy to suprised to sneering. He looked her up and down like if he were checking her out for material and if she fell in love at the snap of a finger. He didn't get the reaction he wanted. Instead of a cute little wave. Claudia just rushed away to her class.
"Your okay Claudia, just keep your head up and keep walking to class. DON'T think about him." She whispered to herself. And so the day begun at school.
