Chapter 9. Part Two

“What’s worrying you?” her sweet voice asked me, how did I know it was her? Well, that’s easy, her sweet and delicious scent and the electricity going through my body every 5 to 10 minutes she was near me.

“It’s just… never mind” I muttered.

“Oh, ok, well talk to me when you change your mind” she said, It was clear I made her uncomfortable, just as she was about to get away I grabbed her by her wrist and said “I’m sorry, can we talk after dinner? If you don’t mind I want to take you to a place where I know no one can hear us” I said, hopefully she’ll say yes, hopefully she’ll say yes, I kept repeating to myself.

“Ok Damian, we will eat at the pack house and after I change from this clothes we will go, sounds good?” God she was so beautiful, I feel like I love her already. I wouldn’t even be surprised if I am not already.

“Yes Sammy, whatever you want”

After seeing everybody I thought were my pack I cleared my throat, I still get surprised they hear me even with our wolves hearing I mean there must be about 300 families here. Without counting children, just the couples, I often forget just how big this pack is.

“Good evening everyone, first of all thank for coming tonight, and second my apologies for all the families I haven’t seen in a while, I promise to organize something so everyone can catch up” I said receiving some applauses and nods. I hold my hand up and the sound immediately stopped everyone with curious and serious expressions on their faces.

“I have asked for you to come here because I would like to inform you on a few things that are and will happen, first of all I would like to say if everyone remembers what happened years ago with Alpha William and his family? – I saw a few nods, regrets, fear and confusion on them, only the younger seemed confused looking at their parents – for those who don’t know the story I will only say a few things about that day and you could ask your parents or older couples for more details – at this the young ones seemed relieved and nodded – well all know Alpha William mated with a half vampire woman, now I don’t know of everyone’s experiences around them, but I on my personal experience can say that I thought Alpha William was carrying, kind, funny but strict man. And I can say that his wife was o is no different, she was a kind, sweet, generous and open minded”

At that I heard my mother snickered, I turned around and glared at her, I was about to say something when Samantha stood up in front of her and kneeled down to her level so fast I almost missed her “Do you have a problem Ruth?” she said pretty low but the alpha genes kicking in on a low threatening way.

“What? Now I have to like your mother?” my mother snapped.

“No, she is to good enough for you. So you shouldn’t even talk about her. Get it? Or maybe I should spell it out for you?” Samantha said, I heard a few gasps from the crowd, but I didn’t know if they were because they recognized her or for the way she was talking to my mother.

“Samantha please stop, and Ruth keep your thought to yourself, I won’t tolerate another interruption of any kind” I said low but with power on my voice, Samantha nodded and sat down again, my mother glared at me but didn’t say anything. I turned my attention back to the pack and started talking again.

“Well you all know what happened after Alpha William died, and what happened after. I am very ashamed to say we were all wrong; Miriam had nothing to do with what happened like a lot of you suspected. This was all by the hand of a vampire named Logan. He is a crazy bastard who is obsessed with Miriam and didn’t accept the fact Miriam mated with our former Alpha, the night our Alpha died the elders believed he came to take Miriam away from him and this pack and to kill their daughter and how many were stood on their way. I found out about this several years ago and stopped the hunt on Miriam and her daughter Samantha. Somehow, Logan found out and that’s when the attacks began again towards our pack and many other packs as well. I have decided that this has gone long enough. A few Alphas have agreed to fight this man until this stops, that is why Alpha Adam and Alpha Sam are here, and we have found out a few months ago that these alphas are also family of Miriam – more gasps came around – in fact all the people that stand behind me right now are related to Miriam”
