prologue

I slowly stir in my bed as the rays of the vibrant sun gently seep through my blinds. My head pounds and protests against my actions as I slowly start to rise to face the gentle light, the pain and agony from my actions of the night before taunting my every move and thought. Of course, that is what was to be expected after trying to live a life full of indulging one's self in a toxic mix of alcohol, music, and dancing until not even the creatures that haunt the night could sustain themselves. That was the life I had wanted to live every day but accomplished this wild journey in just one pain filled night.

I deeply inhaled as I stretched out my weary and sore muscles, only for the pounding agony in my head to be replaced with the fresh scent of lemongrass and peppermint tea, soothing the barking and protest of my body. As I turned my head to see through my squinting sight, the cup of tea sitting and patiently waiting for my lips and hands to meet it at the nightstand next to my low lying bed.

I sluggishly moved toward it wanting it's soothing effect that it had over me to just rush into my aching body and soul at this very moment, until the sudden thought popped into my head, 'who had brought this into my room?'
