That depressing, soul-crushing moment when your crush gets into a relationship when you were just about to ask them out. If you haven't experienced it, let me tell you: it fucking sucks.
It's worse if you're their friends, because you have to smile along and act as if you don't care. You tell yourself "as long as their happy, i'm happy" even though that isn't completly true.
Now, this would be completely different if I had any guts. I would've asked her out the day that I even thought of it. I would've picked up the phone and called her, "Hey, I was curious about what you'd say if I would ask you out." That way I would've known how she felt before I felt like I couldn't be around her.
Oh, and that. You feel like you can't be around them, because you know they're taken. You're so fucking jelous and you don't want to ruin your friend's happiness. You're afraid that they'll be the great friend they are and ask "what's wrong?"
The correct answer is, "I like you and now I know that you don't like me, and my mind isn't processing it right" but if it were me I would just say "nothing".
Your friends acts exactly the same way they did before they were taken, which makes another bell go off in your head. The one labeled "they only think of me as a friend". The one labeled "friend-zone". I've read enough Instagram post to know how fucking hard it is to get out of the friend-zone.
You think to yourself, "it's time to get a new crush". Oh honey, if only it were that easy. If you think you can get rid of the person that you thought of everytime a love song came on, every night, every day, all day/night, 24/7, that easily, you're in for a surprise.
Now you think of all the times your friends have openly shipped you guys. Everytime your parents have openly shipped you guys. Every time they've asked if you were dating, then why not. That "you guys would make such a cute couple". Everytime your crush just shook their head and said "we don't like each other", and you're just there pretending to agree.
If you haven't experienced this then let me tell you: it fucking sucks. There's nothing you can do about it, except risking it all and telling your crush: "Hey, I Like You".
