First book I'm writing, and would love criticism and support. Haven't decided on a cover yet and first chapter is short. I hope you enjoy.

It hadn't been long since the thought of him had drifted through her mind. They had only recently met and yet she couldn't take her mind off of him. His big dark brown eyes, matched perfectly with his chocolate skin tone and his seemingly small lips. The thought of him making her smile as she stretches out on her unmade bed; pulling her blanket up higher thinking of possible future scenarios for the two. But she knew she wanted to take things slow, seeing as how her previous relationship started and ended so quickly. She wants to get to know him and see how things proceed. An unexpected chiming from her phone has her reaching over quickly, to her nearby bean bag on which she tossed her phone earlier on. With the hopes of it being a message from him.

Opening her phone to discover he had texted to meet for desert in 20 minutes. She hurriedly gets out of bed and pulls her shoulder length blue dreads into a ponytail, assessing her outfit in the mirror she replies back with a agreement and smile emoji. Tucking her phone in the back of her black jeans from which she still had on from work, she grabs her checkered vans and slips them on. Rummaging through her unorganized cluttered closet lastly to find a jacket. Deciding on her favorite pink hoodie which she thinks goes well with her hair, she grabs her mase and apartment key and is out the door.

Walking in the crispy night air toward the old diner she nervously pulls at the bottoms of her sleeves and holds her mase tightly in one had. She glances around quickly and continues walking down the uneven sidewalk. She eventually sees the dimly lit diner up ahead and walks faster to get inside. She pushes open the old swinging door and does a quick sweep of the room. Noticing he isn't here yet and the diner is basically empty besides from the staff she chooses to seat herself at a booth in the back. Sliding into the red cushioned seats she sets her phone on the wooden table, checking her messages.

The swinging door creaks open and she looks up seeing him in all his glory. She waves shyly with a small smile and starts to get butterflies in her stomach, looking down she takes a breath and reminds herself to go slow. Feeling the seat sink a little next to her she looks up to be greeted with a smile, and she can't help but do the same. They stare at each other for awhile until he finally breaks the silence, "I'm sorry I meant to save your number under your name the moment you gave it to me but I couldn't help looking at your smile, and it seems I've forgotten your name, I'm Vince in case you forgot mine",

"Meredith"

"Well thank you Meredith, for not forgetting mine. My apologies again love." She couldn't help but blush at the use of his endearment. "It will not happen again" he said as they both chuckled.
