"Good morning class. Today we are going to be sending pen pals to people in Illinois. I will be passing out your assigned student." Mrs. Grabs, my Language Arts teacher explains.
I got mine. I was going to be writing to a boy named Patrick Stumph.
Interesting name. I started right away, wanting to get over with it.
Dear Patrick,
Hi! I'm Madeline Smith, from Smallview Highschool, in Tennessee.
It's boring here... I'm sure you don't want to read about me moping and complaining on how much my life sucks. Anyway, here are some things about me!
I love, love, LOVE, reading. Especially long books. (and some fan fiction here and there...) I also love music. I'm obsessed with Genesis. I like lots of things from the 80s. If there is something I love more than reading and music, it's eating and sleeping. My mom makes delicious lasagna, and it's amazing. Also, who doesn't love sleep?
Enough about my interests.
Okay, I guess you want to know what I look like. I have brown hair, green eyes, and yeah. I'm not special. I'm quite the opposite. If I seemed like an outgoing person, I'm not. Trust me. I hate social interaction. I have social anxiety actually!
I sat there for about twenty minutes, not knowing what else to put. Mrs. Grab announces that she is taking the letters, and they better be done.
I quickly scribble something down.
We ran out of time in class.. sorry! Hopefully we can maybe meet each other one day?
- Madeline Smith
Mrs. Grabs came to pick up the letter.
"Why isn't the letter in the envelope?" She asks rudely.
I scramble and put the letter in the envelope, and write Patrick's name on the front of it fancily. I write mine on the backside.
Now, I have to wait to see if Patrick Stumph cares about my letter.
