Emma's POV
Running. That's all I could remember. Just running. I had always been alone, but I had always been confident. Now I was scared. Scared for the first time in what seemed like forever. Forever alone. That's my life. The world has changed. More threats have risen. Threats that work to destroy people like me. They believe in a society where the rich stay rich, and the poor are locked up or killed. That has been my life for the past 20 years. I don't remember before that. I still remember the day it all changed. The day they came. They came with their planes and bombs. They came and the haven't left since. The town I used to live in, Cantonia, is now rubble. It was seen as unnecessary. So they blew it up. And they blew up my parents in the process. And my friend Jude's. But Jude was killed a couple of months back in a raid gone wrong. I was the only one in our group of five survivors that survived. And now here I am. Running from these stupid troopers again. I hate them. I hate their helmets. I hate their masks. I hate everything about them. They took my friends, and now they are trying to take me. But i won't let them. I have to avenge my friends.
So here I am, running. Just running. Like usual.
I don't know how long I can keep this up.
