It's like any other day in the city of Snow Blade. Cold. Children were happily playing in the forest. People were mingling with others. Prince Shi though was in the comfort of his room. Silently watching the others do their thing.
It's been a month since he went to the mortal realm and took on his older form. He sighed, thinking of the woman he met and fell in love with. Yes, love. Though, he's young he knew that what he felt for her was love. His heart ache every time that he thought of her. Her smiles. Her laugh. Her touch. He missed them all.
He missed her so much that he filled his room with drawings of her. He smirked. When he began posting her images on his wall, he didn't let anyone enter his room. His mother and brother were surprised and protested at first but Shi firmly told them not to. After months, they relented, thinking that he's only in a phase.
"Yan Zhu..." he whispered, longingly looking at the sky. He let out a bitter smile. She already probably moved on and found someone else. If it's a month for him, it would have been years for her. He wouldn't be surprised if she did forget about him. After all, he was only a figment of her memory. Her husband for a day. Her lover for a night.
Unknown to him, the one he's longing for was also thinking of him.
In the Blaze City...
Yan Da was on her favorite spot, playing a memory on her hand. Her most treasured one. The one she couldn't forget even if she told herself to. Unlike Shi, she had been going back to the mortal realm over and over again in hopes of seeing the man she fell in love with.
"Yun Fei, I miss you. Where are you?" She stated with tears starting to form in her eyes. "Is Yu'er right? Did you forget about me already?"
She blinked her tears away. She chuckled. If her father and brothers saw her now, they'll most likely reprimand her. She should be emotionless. Feelings are a weakness, they'll say.
She quickly wiped the remaining tears in her eyes. She should forget about him. He's a mortal. One she's not supposed to love. If her father found out, he would kill her.
It was good that she was already done fixing herself when her father appeared suddenly in front of her.
"Father?"
The king smirked. "Yan Da, my daughter, I'm sending you on a mission. You must not fail at all cost. Our tribe is depending on you."
Yan Da nodded. "If father says so. I'll just get ready."
The king's evil smirk grew wider. "No need. You won't be needing anything."
She looked at him curiously then. What did he mean by that? Suddenly, she felt a pressure on her heart and mind. She gasped, falling down in pain. Not long she was unconscious with blood painting her lovely form and the ground beneath her.
