It was my first day of kindergarten, I remember that day as seeing blackness, but so clear. I will never get those images out of my mind. My mother was driving me to school, we turned the corner, I saw the car. The lady didn't have her eyes on the road, she was too focused on her phone. Her car went over the center line, my mother could not pull into the ditch because we were on a bridge. She turned around and took off my seatbelt, then she opened the door and pushed me out of the car. I remember looking at the car and seeing my mothers terrified face, then the car crashing into hers. She had saved my life, she lost her life to save me. I was the only survivor, if I would have just done something, she would still be alive. I would still have a mother. I saw a light above me, I looked up at the light, I wanted to go to the light. Then everything went black. I remember hearing the sirens, I was taken to the hospital. The doctor told me I had to get five surgeries because I had a piece of metal from a door on my side,  mental in my head, glass covered my body. The doctor told me that I was lucky to survive.   When I got out of the hospital I was sent to a foster home because my father had died when I was young. My dad was a staff sergeant in the army and was shot defending our country. I remember men in uniforms knocking on our door and my mother bursting into tears. People say I cant remember that because I as too young but what they don't know is that I remember everything. I was sent to a foster home, when I got out of the hospital, none of the families really liked me they would get rid of me, and off to a new home I would go, that's how my childhood went.
