"We are here today to pay a tribute and our respect to a child of god, a daughter, a sister and sadly a victim of homicide, we are here to support the family and friends of Avery Finley a 15 year old girl innocent, not exposed to even her first boyfriend, her first kiss so please be respectful and know she's in gods hands now" the minister said as he looked down and opened his bible. You see that's not even halfway true I think and chuckle as I stand behind a tall pine tree in pinewoods cemetery watching her funeral as I do all my victims, I wouldn't even call them victims id call them.... Friends in a way but Avery, Avery was my best friend, and became the love of my life, want to hear the story here it goes pay attention though it gets tough but then we all have a good laugh about it by the fire as I sharpen my knives and load my pistol.
One night I was driving through the forest, no cell service, no people, just the road, pine trees and the occasional snow fall. I was almost to my destination when a girl with only a grey T-shirt and underwear on came running, screaming even for help she would delay my trip if I stopped but for some reason I couldn't stop myself. So, I stopped the car got out I tried my best to be sympathetic but I not that kind of person and frankly I don't wish I was. She got in my car we drove in silence for about an hour until she finally said something "Who are you" she said sounding scared to speak "I'm Reagan" I said "I'm Avery Finley". We drove for about an hour more till we reached Pinewood, OR there I parked my black Chevy Camaro in a parking lot and turned the car off I looked at her still not concerned about what happened to her and then she says "Are you going to ask what happened" I soon say back to her "No" she said confused "Why" and I said softly "because I learned its best not to ask questions" "Who'd you learn that from" she said about to fall asleep in the passenger seat " My dad" I said soon realizing she was passed out. I watched her fall asleep I grabbed a blanket out of my truck and put it over her. I didn't sleep that night I watched her, every yawn every toss and turn until the sun came up. It was around 7 o'clock and she woke up, batts her eyes and rubs them she looks at me and can tell I haven't slept for a while an asked if I was watching her sleep, I said yes only because that's what came out and not what I meant to say, she smiled and said that's cute and that made me smile back at her, ill admit she was an attractive girl. We drove through pinewoods and when we drove by the cemetery she said with her head leaned against the glass window "When I die there going to bury me there across from that pine tree" what she said was soon to be true it pains me to say I said chuckling "You're don't plan on dying on me do you?" "No of course not" she said laughing "Alright good I cant loose another friend" I said looking down "Another friend" she said confused "It's a story for another time" I said "So what next" she said with what I interpreted as hope in her tone of voice "I don't know I haven't thought of that yet, and I certainly didn't think I would pick up a pretty girl along the way" I said reluctantly, she smiled and I smiled and time stopped it was me and this girl I had just met, I knew nothing about her that changes towards the end but were not quite there yet.
