The Silent People

This is the man who reached out his hand

While you left for a better land.

This is the girl who wept in the rain,

And you ignored her pain.

This is the boy who lived in the cold,

Whose story was never told.

This is the woman who died alone,

Who lost her throne and stripped of what she owned.

These are the silent people,

The young and the old.

These are the silent people,

Whose stories are never told.

These are the silent people,

Who wear masks of gold and tear stains of old.
