The Cliff

It spins,

It glides,

in graceful circles.

Its wings shining ablaze,

in silvery moonlight.

Seductively catching his gaze,

with balletic and blithe movements,

while luring him into the trap.

It knows of Its beauty,

the smirk on Its face proof.

His eyes brightly shining

the man walks into the trap.

He loses all of his senses,

sees only one thing.

Walking forward

the man sets his stones in place.

Smiling It raises its arm

up into the air.

Motioning to the man.

Beckoning,

taunting him.

He comes forward.

Footsteps ring in his ears.

Eyes glittering wickedly,

It led him to the ledge.

The man kept walking toward It.

No second thoughts.

So he fell.

Smiling, Its wings ablaze,

once again.

It watched the prey,

as he fell in a downward spiral

to the ocean.

Smiling It flew away

into the moonlight.
