Prices
On the gate: £55 (roughly)
Online: £32-35

On the gate is definitely way too expensive for a 8 hour day plus food costs and souvenirs (optional) it's also expensive if you don't own a car and have to get a train but I have always managed to get a lift or a coach (school trip) to Alton Towers so I'll review trains next year.
If you book online it it definitely worth it especially if you have a way to get there but you have to book 7+ days in advance

Atmosphere
The general atmosphere of Alton Towers is amazing
Everything is so chill and everyone is happy and they are all enjoying themselves and it's a happy place for everyone

Things to do
There are rides for adrenaline junkies
And children
There are dark rides (hex and duel) and plenty of coasters there are not many flat rides but hopefully some more will be brought in. There are games all over the park, river rapids, if you went in the 2017 season you could see construction of SW8. There is a high ropes course and a splash landings hotel and entertainment in the hotel. There's CBeebies land.

Shops
There are lots of gift shops at exits of some rides and a huge gift shop on towers street. There's plenty of shops for people to visit

Food
There are cafe's and other food shops but food can get pricey so if you want food cheap I suggest bring a picnic because you're allowed to go back to the car and get food but make sure one of the staff at the turnstiles (like Shawn and Harry) stamp your hand so you're allowed back in. There are plenty of benches and open areas for picnics and just eating. There are also a lot of bins around so you don't need to litter.

Theming
Around the park there are speakers with the Alton Towers theme music and the speakers are hidden in bushes but I have seen some of them.
Some rides like Th13teen, the smiler, galactica, hex and kinda nemesis have a clear theme but other rides like oblivion don't but SW8 looks like it will have an amazing theme and merlin have done a really good job so far and I'm excited for it.

The big six

Smiler: an enjoyable ride. A bit rough in places but otherwise it's extremely smooth. Cool theming structure. The only problem with it is the restraints, they smell like stale BO and hopefully some tlc will happen to the smiler. It's my top coaster. Has an amazing punch of airtime. Manufactured buy gerstlauer.

Oblivion: short and sweet. Extremely smooth. A very special ride for me as it was my first ride at Alton Towers. Needs more theming but overall a very enjoyable ride. Manufactured by b&m.

Rita: the roughest ride at Alton Towers. Yet still enjoyable. Launch if fun. Short and sweet. Needs more theming and tlc. Manufactured by Intamin

Th13teen: one of my favourite rides in the park. Really smooth. Excellent theming. Even better in the dark. The drop is really cool. Not too short not too long. Manufactured by Intamin.

Nemesis: an old ride at towers. As of most rides on this list it is designed by John wardley. Smooth. Intense. One of my favourites. It's a classic. Manufactured by b&m

Galactica: previously known as air. I have been on it as air and galactica. I prefer air. Galactica has THE most immersive soundtrack ever I love it a lot the soundtrack is by IMAscore (sand as the smiler) it's nice and floaty. galactica is a b&m

Trains to stoke: so the trains are quite cheap for both ways it comes between £30-40 (this is including return for an adult- 16+ I have looked on the train line site other sites are available) I personally haven't got a train there yet but I will soon.

Drive to stoke: depending on where you live (I live in Leicester) the driving time could vary for me it takes between 1hour - 1hr 10mins
