Jess's POV

I was scurrying around the hotel room, trying to find the earring i had stuffed in my purse in a rush. I heard his knock on the door.

"Just one minute!" I sang out, zipping up the back of my dress and slipping on my shoes.

I rushed to the door and greeted him with a small hug, again not exactly knowing how to greet him, considering i don't really know what we are to each other. "Hey!" I said with a smile, "I'm almost ready, just give me 2 minutes!"

"Take your time Jess, Mom won't mind."

I flicked off on the curling iron and put my makeup back into it's small bag. "I'm ready!"

He handed me my coat, and helped me put the arms in. We took the elevator down to the Lobby, and out into his car. "You realize my Mom is super excited to meet you?" He laughed.

"Really?" I blushed.

"She's called me like 4 times today, asking me what kind of stuff you like and making sure chicken and veggies is okay with you!" He laughed.

I laughed along with him, that's adorable. "That's so sweet!"

"Just please remind her that you aren't my girlfriend, she'll make us pose in front of the tree in the backyard or something." He said laughing.

"I'll be sure to!"

We pulled into his mother's house a little while later. It was a beautiful suburban home, with a beautiful front yard. Amid the rain, it looked ready to step out on the front lawn for a BBQ or summer party.

His mother was already in the door, dressed to the nines, waiting for us to come in. Jason came over to my side and opened the door for me. "Hey Mom!" He said, hugging her and kissing her cheek.

She smiled, and looked over at me. I slipped off my shoes and put my hand out in front of me.

She ignored my hand gesture and brought me in for a friendly hug. Jason was behind her shrugging his shoulders. "I told you!" He smiled.

"It's okay." I mouthed back.

She loosened her grip and then took a step away from me, giving me space to take off my coat.

"Thank you for having me over for supper, Ms Mitchell."

"Honey, my name is Jennifer! And it's my pleasure!" She smiled.

Their house layout was much different than my own. The kitchen was in the front of the houses, the dining room and living room were situated more towards the back of the house.

I took a seat at the table next to Jason.

"We're just waiting on Jason's sister, Sarah. She's always late, she should be hear any minute." She was looking at her watch, and I could tell she was embarrassed but I honestly didn't care. It didn't make a big difference to me.

5 minutes later, the front door swung open and who i assumed was Sarah walked in through the door. Her hair was dripping wet, behind her a boy with his hood up walked in and closed the door behind him.

"Hi Mom, this is Justin." I heard her say.

I shot my head up and make straight eye contact with Justin. What the fuck is going on?

He looked scared and confused, and more than anything embarrassed. I was embarrassed too, this is one of the most awkward situations I've ever been in, in my whole life.
