It was around two a.m, I awoke to a slight buzzing sound coming from the hallway beyond my door. I happen to be home alone so this frightened me greatly, I had no idea what to do. My parents had left for the weekend on some sort of getaway. I sat up in bed still dreary from sleeping. I reached over to my nightstand to grab my glasses only to find that they are not there, It's not surprising to as I'm always losing them. But it is to a surprise that I can clearly remember leaving them there when I had fallen asleep. I stepped out of bed and slowly made my way to the door which was cracked open. There was a slight red glow seeping in the small line of a crack that made up the space between me and whatever May lye beyond my small room that I call my safe place. As I walked towards the door the buzzing sound that I had previously heard had started to die down as I approached. This startled me a little. I stepped out onto the cold solid hardwood floor. I felt chills run down my spine. It felt as if something was watching me. I walked towards the stairs which gave me a perfect view of the front door. I stopped dead in my tracks. I couldn't breathe. Are doorway was wide open and there was somebody, something just standing there staring into my soul. I couldn't move and I couldn't scream. It slowly started towards me. Creeping closer and closer until it was at the bottom of the stairs. I quickly rushed to my room and slammed an locked the door behind me. I ran over and hid under my blanket just hoping that it was all just a bad dream. my door opened with a loud creek. It ripped off my blanket. " I let out a scream but nothing came out...... It was too late!
