I bolted awake ... but I was not sure what awakened me. I fumbled for my phone to turn off my alarm, but as I reached for the bedside table, my hand passed through the nightstand as if it was nothing but mist. After a moment, I raised my hand in front of my face to discover that it was not the nightstand that was no longer solid, but what used to be a hand. I thought that it was my eyes playing tricks on me but as I got up I realized that I no longer had hands or feet. I tried to ignore it and get ready for school but I could not pick anything up. After half an hour I gave up and got my mom to help me. She made my breakfast and then opened the door for me. She acted as if it was normal for my hands to be gone and said nothing. When I got to my first period, not only could I not write but my arms were fading! I was about to raise my hand (well arm) when over the intercom I hear, "Rosalynn Ghost to the office for check out." All the kids in the class turned to look at me and I turned bright red. On my way to the door, my best friend got up and followed. I expected Mr. S to say something to him but he did not. Now I was really confused, did everyone know something I did not or was I just being paranoid? Once we were in the hall Matt, my best friend, noticed my confusion and told me that I would understand later. I wanted to argue with him but I did not have enough information, so I simply nodded my head.

When we got to the office my parents were sitting there and looked very serious, which is weird because the only time they looked like that was when someone died. I started to worry, the only person that I had left to loose that was not in front of or with me was my older brother, Liam. I walked into the office prepared to be told the worst but they just asked Matt if he was coming with us. He said he was and so that is how we ended up in the car. I was crammed in the car with my mom, Dad, Matt, and all the suit cases my parents packed. I did not understand why they decided to take their  smallest car since we had two larger ones but I didn't said anything. They were all back to their normal, ridiculous selves. We had been driving for what felt like hours and I had nothing to do except listen to them talk because I could not grab my phone before I went to school. Don't get me wrong I loved them but listening to them talk and/or sing nonstop for three or four hours started to really bother me. Eventually I had enough and my curiosity got the best of me so I asked where we were going. When I asked, they looked nervous for a quick second and then told me we were going to a cabin in the woods as a late birthday present. This did not make sense, my birthday was two months ago, at the end of October and it was the middle of December. No one went outside for more than thirty minutes a day in the winter months or their blood would freeze. Camping in this extreme weather was so dangerous not even the  worst daredevils would try. I wondered where we were really going for a while. I was shocked when I woke up, partially because I did not remember going to sleep and partially because it was no longer winter. We were in the middle of a lush, green forest with no traces that winter had ever been there.
