Today was the first official day of rehearsal for Descendants 2. The whole cast and crew from the first Descendants was back on set, ready and excited to be see who new actors and actresses are. I stood a little off to the side of the stage, wringing my hands nervously.

What if I don't get along with them?

What they hate me?

What if this all doesn't work?

"Earth to Dove, are you there?" I snap out of my daydream to see Sofia standing in front of me waving a hand in front of my face.
"Yeah, yeah, sorry. Zoned out." The look on my face would later resemble to someone who just woke up in the morning. I quickly glance over at BooBoo and Cameron to see them conversing before bursting out into laughter.
"It's okay. They're about to announce the new actors anyways!" she squeals. I smile because of my best friend's excitement before hearing our director, Kenny Ortega, speak from the stage.

"Okay guys, I know you're excited about finding out who your new cast mates are so, we're just gonna get right into it. As you already know, we have four new characters that will be joining us. So, without further adieu, the actress that will be playing Uma, daughter of Ursula, will be the beloved, China Anne McClain!"
The whole room erupted into smiles and cheers and clapping while China walked out with a large grin, heading to the microphone where Kenny previously was. "Hey guys, just wanted to say its an honor to be working on this movie set with such talented people. Thanks for this opportunity." she came down from the stage to stand beside me.
She walked away, still with a smile, as Kenny walked back up to introduce the second actor. "Okay, our next actor will be playing Gil, the son of Gaston. Please welcome, Dylan Playfair!" He walked out with a smile, not as big as China's, but still wide. "I just wanna thank Kenny Ortega for this opportunity, the original VK's," he gestured to Sofia, Cameron, BooBoo and I. "and everyone else that helped me achieve this once in a lifetime opportunity."
"Next, daughter of Lady Tremaine; Anna Cathcart!" A girl that had to be around 13 walked out with a smile possibly bigger than China's. "Hey guys, thank you for this opportunity, especially as a younge girl. This is my dream come true." She lit up the whole room, claps and cheers erupted.
"All right, last but not least, the part of Harry Hook, Captain Hook's son. Please welcome, your final new actor, Thomas Doherty!"

Oh my God.

I whispered to China. "He's so pretty."

"Um, hi." Everyone lightly laughed at how awkward he is. "Its such a great honor to be working with such talented people. I came all the way from Scotland for this," this would explain the accent. "and I'm so glad I did. So yeah, thanks for the opportunity."

His accent is really hot though.

Kenny walked back up to microphone. "Alright, now feel free to mingle for now. Lunch isn't served until noon so we have another hour to go. After lunch at 1:30, the whole cast and dancers have choreo rehearsal, so make sure you eat, you'll need the energy, rehearsal goes until 5:30. Also, Dove and Sofia, your duet isn't as big as Ways To Be Wicked or It's Goin' Down so we'll work on that when we're done with the sets. For the rest of the cast, I recommend you to review your script to memorize your lines more before filming." he smiled and walked off stage.

I went to go introduce myself to Dylan." Hi, Dove Cameron."

"Dylan Playfair, nice to meet you."

"Its really nice to be working with new people."

"Same, I've been doing Some Assembly Required for a while now, so this is like a fresh start."

I wrapped up my conversation with Dylan and made my way to Anna. "Hi, Anna, Dove."

I saw her eyes widen. "Oh. My. God. I'm such a huge fan!"

I was touched, honestly. "Thank you, I love working with younger actors/actresses because it's different than adults, yknow."

"Yeah, I get that."

"Anyways, I'm so glad that you get to live out your dream, especially at such a younger age than most."

"I know, I'm so grateful for everything."
I hugged and said goodbye to Anna as I had one more person to meet.

"Hey, I'm Dove."
He turns around and looks a little surprised but quickly recovers and smiles. "Why hello. Thomas."
"So I've heard. It's nice to be working with new cast members, the VK's get annoying." I say sarcastically. He felt like someone I could joke with. Not that I can't joke with anyone else, but yknow.

I didn't realize we spent the whole hour talking until Kenny announced that lunch is now being served. Before we left, he grabbed my arm and stopped me. "Would you mind putting your number in my phone?" I nod before taking his phone into my hand. "Sure. Let's also hang out soon, when we don't have rehearsal."

After doing that and going our separate ways, Cameron walked up to me with a smirk on his face. "So. You were talking for a long time. What where you doing?"

I roll my eyes fondly. "Nothing, just talking."

"Hm, just talking I bet." He says sarcastically before walking away, leaving me to find someone to hang with.

Choreo rehearsal was a lot harder than I thought it'd be. I did do show choir and theater when I was younger but I was not Kenny Ortega level. Today, we were starting Ways To Be Wicked. The idea behind the whole choreography for the movie was that Mal visioned that the VK's were evil again and poisoned all these apples that were given to the Auradon kids to...essentially brainwash them.

It was 6:00pm by the time I got home, and I had to be back for rehearsal the next day at 8am. I was told we were going to work a little more on Ways To Be Wicked and China, Thomas, and Dylan would start learning Uma's song, What's My Name.

It's Goin' Down needed swords, and we had to learn and choreograph that part too, so we'd do it later on.

The first thing I did when I got home was take a shower. Rehearsal was really intense and it made me sweat. A lot. I then went to feed Cheesecake, eat dinner, and read over my lines and practice the choreo. By the time I read over the script once and practised the choreo about a hundred times, it was late, so I went upstairs to get ready for bed.

Immediately after I plugged my phone in, I got a text.

Dove: thomas?

Thomas: the one and only

Dove: oh ok, i thought someone random got my number

Thomas: im not that random, i am insane though
Thomas: anyways, better sleep we have rehearsal early tomorrow. night love, see you then

Dove: night tommy
