My name is Chase Holland, and I am an aspiring indie game developer.

My followers on GameJolt recently told me about this new game called Doki Doki Literature Club. It appeared to be some sort of visual novel dating simulator, and I wasn't too fond of those, considering the sheer amount of time it takes to complete the main route, let alone the entire storyline.

After three straight minutes of scrolling through the comments, I decide "fuck it" and visit the game page on Steam. It turned out to be free, which made it less of a hassle to get it done and out of the way. I waited for the installation to finish, and immediately loaded up the game.

Apparently, there was a warning that the game featured scenes that showed depression, abuse, self-harm, etc.

Well, this isn't the first time I've seen fucked-up shit in a video game. Little did I know that this was the first reminder that this "game" is not what it appeared to be.
