Same Day: Arda

I must have fallen into deep, deep sleep 'cause the next thing I knew, my eyes were closed. They fluttered open and I saw. I felt rough ground under my cheek. When my senses awoken, I felt this painful sting on my elbow, knee and, ankle. I tried to get up several times but my limbs were numb and out of blood. I had to position myself in a comfortable way. I lied on the street with my back pressed on the rough ground. It took a few minutes until I could feel again. I closed my eyes again to rest.

The air smelled foul. I tilted my head to wear I sensed the smell was coming from. There I saw was my family's car, now wrecked. "Ugh," I groaned, both for the ruined car and the relief that I didn't get trapped there before the accident happened. But my family wasn't there. No limbs or blood on sight. Whu...

I tried to sit up. My body was still a bit numb but I can manage. I rose to my feet and tried to go to the car, stumbling all the way. When I finally gained my balance, I examined the vehicle. The back of the car hit a tree which was not supposed to be there. I know mountains are supposed to be filled with trees but this tree was not supposed to be in tropical countries. My head spun a bit then I saw that I wasn't on a tilting road anymore. The car and I weren't on any kind of mountain. The terrain was flat and the road had marvelous trees on the sides--trees that only grow in countries that experience winter.

My country never had any winter seasonsWhere was I?

I placed a hand on a window of the car for balance. Nobody was there inside. Not a single drop of blood, not a sight of human flesh.

The door I placed my hand was locked. Even if it wasn't I still couldn't open it, it's all ruined. Good thing the door beside it, the front seat door, wasn't that wrecked. It wasn't locked. I opened it examined the seat...

There was my mom's handbag. It looked like it hasn't been in anyone's hands since it was made. I pulled the zipper open and found some useful tools: some pens [I should take these things out. They can help.], IDs, documents, receipts, pieces of candy [Ooh! Better keep this in my pocket. They might come in handy.], some coins and bills [I'll keep this too], a brush [This too] and my mother's mobile phone.

I took the phone out of the bag and press the big button. The wallpaper appeared but the digital clock wasn't moving, so was the battery. I swiped the screen several times and found that there was wifi in the place. Strange... I'll bring this with me.

Noticing my pockets were already full, I took everything I took out, threw the bag and the remaining stuff away and grab the next bag I spotted, dad's sling bag.

It didn't really hold much, just some more coins, which I set aside along with the items I grabbed from the previous bag. I checked the tiny bag's side-pockets for more stuff and found dad's keys and a flashlight, which I immediately set aside with the useful stuff I found. He also got this pocket knife [Awesome! Now I can stab someone!], a pack of bullets and a gun... He always brings these when we go to the resort. Last time he sneaked them in with no problem. I grabbed the weapon.

It's really heavy and meant for a man's hand. The details were nice though, silvery and shiny. I probably shouldn't load the bullets just yet. I don't know how to handle a gun.

The bag was empty after I found the weapons. I threw it to the area where mother's bag landed. From the backseats, I grabbed my sister's and my stuff. I zipped Mae's backpack open but found nothing very useful. I did, however, managed to remove her "magic pen". You know, the pen with the invisible ink that can be seen when you direct the beams of the pen's flashlight on the paper you wrote on with the invisible ink? That pen. Oh, don't forget the faerie book.

She also had this cute green notebook that I thought I could use, since I am a writer, so I threw it into the pile of useful tools. Next I had to check Manny's stuff.
