I roll my eyes and let him lead me down to where the ball was being held. Upon arrival, I immediately spot Katelin and Draco, both of them with huge smiles on their faces.

I smiled too at seeing my friend so happy. Fred caught sight of my smile and slipped his arm around my waist and pulling me closer. "I know he's a jerk, but I also know you're happy for them," he states and I nod. "Yep. He's also laid off a lot since she told him to leave me and Hermione alone about our status," I reply absentmindedly.

"Good. I'd hate to get in trouble for hexing him," he responds and I sigh. "It's okay, Lion, I'm used to it," I say, using a nickname I gave him after his House. "Ok bookworm, I'm trusting your word here," He replies, smirking.

Katelin wanders over to where we were standing and groans. "I hate dresses so much oh my God! I don't see why it's mandatory for us to wear them," she rants, causing Fred to snicker. I chuckled a bit and said, "It'll be ok, child."

She glared at me and I laughed again, but stopped when Draco joined us. Fred's grip on me tightened and I held my head up high. "Hello Draco," I say civilly, offering a small smile. "Hello Morgan," he returns, going to stand next to his girlfriend. "Hello Fred," Draco greets and Fred forces a smile and returns it. "I know I said some pretty terrible things to you over the years, but I'd like to start over again," Draco says to me and I shrug, elbowing Fred when he scowls.

Katelin walked away to go get something for her and Draco to drink and he turns to me with a pleading look. "I understand if you don't completely forgive me, but please do just a little. I truly do care for her and I don't want to lose her," he blurts and I stare at him in surprise. "Okay, we'll try this again. Jade Black, nice to meet you," I say and smile. He sighs in relief and gives a grateful smile and replies, "And you. I'm Draco Malfoy."

I turn to head back after getting our drinks and notice that Morgan and Fred are laughing at something Draco said. I sighed in relief and focused on not tripping over my dress.

I handed Draco his drink and he smiled, thanking me. "It's been lovely," Fred begins, pulling my friend closer to him. "But we have to go," he says and ignores the puzzled look on Morgan's face.

"But Fred," she begins but he grins and winks at her. "You'll love it, I promise. If you don't you can beat me up later," he promises and I smile a little knowing full well she'd take him up on that offer. "Okay. I'll see you guys later," I say and Draco waves his goodbye.

He's already finished his drink and he goes to throw it away and takes mine too. "I wasn't done, but okay," I say, watching him in confusion. He takes my hands and leads me to one of the balconies where it's quiet and actually kinda peaceful. "I have something for you," he says after a while and I turn to look at him in confusion yet again.

Draco takes my hands and holds out a box. I look between him and the box, hoping this wasn't what I thought. I opened the box, swallowing my fear, and found that it was a ring, but not like I thought.

I smiled when I seen that it was the Slytherin crest and had KWR on it. "How did you manage to get my initials on here?" I ask and he grins shyly. "Very carefully," he replies with a smirk and takes it out of the box and puts it on my right ring finger.

"Thank you," I say and hug him before backing off quickly. He ducks his head to attempt to hide his blush, but mutters "you're welcome" under his breath.
