life.
It's something nobody fully understands.
Something people can't get away from, unless they choose to end it for themselves.

"Sapphire?"
"Sorry," I say, "I was away in my own world I suppose."
"I like your drawing!"
I desperately tried to cover up the piece of paper laced with the poisonous ink that contained my thoughts and feelings.
"You weren't supposed to see it..." I whispered.
"Why not? It's just a drawing dummy."

But it wasn't just a drawing, it's never just a drawing. They are my escape.

"Sapphire, you're dreaming again."
"Look Laura just leave me alone!"

I snapped, I snap a lot. I never mean to, it just happens. I have no control over it.
"Right. Ok Saff, see you later I guess."
I sat there, continuing to draw. It's a waterfall. There's a girl standing there. Blood trickling down her slitted arms into the water.

So tranquil,
Yet so dark.

I stand up and grab my phone. I walk to the bathroom and turn on the shower. My music is playing and I stand and wash my hair.
You know shower thoughts?
Those thoughts you have, full of depth and realisation?
Well I have those all the time, so somehow showers are an escape of some sort to me.
My phone rings, so I turn off the water and carefully step out the shower. It's Lauren. Without hesitation I answer and wait for the sounds.
"I'm sorry about earlier." Lauren says, a tone of depression in her voice.
"You did nothing wrong, I snapped again."
"Sapphire you know that's not your fault. I shouldn't have been so intrusive."
"Well I forgive you. I'm also dripping water all over the floor... talk later?"
"Yes," She laughs "Bye."
I grab a towel and make my way to my room.
Half way through getting dressed my phone vibrates.

I put on my favourite outfit. A grey shirt, flannel jacket and jeans.
I then sit down in front of my mirror and do my makeup.
I lightly dust my face with powder, fill in my brows, put on some mascara, put on my lipstick and highlighter.

I look at my phone and it's 4:20.
I run downstairs, shove on my trainers, grab my keys and run to the park.

By the time I get here  it's 4:29.
I am out of breath and tired but I'm here on time.

I approach the swings and plonk myself down next to Lauren

I approach the swings and plonk myself down next to Lauren.
"Yay, you made it!" She shouts.
"Yeah, barely though."
I swing my legs back and forth to get me moving.
I never remember it being this fun as a kid...
