"What are you doing?" You asked the blonde android. He was sitting on the sofa in the staff room next to the lab, holding tablet in his hand.
The staff room is where all scientist in this project rest from their work. it fills with white sofas, black small tables, coffee machine, speakers playing relaxed musics and a lots more.
"Watching videos" he replied flatly. As you leant in closer from behind the sofa, you saw a footage concert from 2012 which Len sang the Servant of evil.
You were a scientist and hired by Crypton Future Media for Vocaloid Android Project A.K.A VAP for short. As the name stated, the project is to create android resembles humanoid personas from sing synthesizer application in 2005. According to the company, they want to bring the Vocaloid comes to 'life' and they can be idols who never age.( and the company will gain so much money without paying since they own them)
They hired scientist and split us into 6 groups. Each group has to create android. You are the lead scientist and in charge of Kagamine Len.
"Why are you watching?" you asked as you rested your arms on sofa's edge.
"Just want to know what kind of person am I to them" you decided to sit on the sofa right next to him but he didn't mind. It wasn't the first time you spent time together like this. Normally you two were just relax on the couch while Len was asking tons of questions like what the outside world is like and so more.
"Hey professor(y/n)" said Len.
"What is it?"
"What is my purpose?" your eyes went wide after you heard that question left from his mouth. What this? Len kun asks the meaning of his life? Is puberty finally hit him?
Len's AI is different from most android of the world. Most androids are meant to serve human, taking our command. Whether is chores, toy or, whatever you want them to be but Len and his sibling are different, their AI is maturing AI which means Len learns and developed similarity to human and thanks to technology called Hart, an android heart, is the closest thing to human heart, they put these harts in to android so they act and sound like human.
"Well, once we complete all the tests, you and your sibling will be released to the outside world then you will be introduced and you shall bring joy to people of Japan by singing" you answered after he heard that, his expression turned bitter.
"Huh? Why are you making face like that? You want to go outside don't you?" you asked as you poked his cheek playfully.
"I do want to go outside but, but!" his word trailed off a bit, trying to find a right word "When I think I won't see you anymore, I feel like...Like I don't want to do anything all day? No no that's not it um, anyway I don't really know what is this feeling but I just know that I still want to see you again even after I am release from here" You were surprise and yet happy. His answer made you grin from ear to ear.
"Aww, are you lonely without me? Don't worry there're a lot of tests to do like physical exam, IQ test, and social interaction test and, so more" You cooed as you pat on his soft fair hair gently. You could him blushed a little.
"Hey professor" He stuttered.
"What?" you looked into his sapphire eyes. You thought it was going to be as hallow as normal android but his eyes were unexpectedly humane.
"I have been noticed this for a while but it feels good? If that how people call this feeling when you pat me. Is that how you programmed me?" his answer made you bewildered.
"No? I'm pretty sure I didn't program you like that" You answer unsurely since you didn't remember quite well what you programmed him.
"You didn't? Oh well, it doesn't matter" He relied.
"No it does matter. What if it is some kind of a new virus? Lately on the news has been reporting about new viruses in android. We better go to the lab to make sure you are alright" You said worriedly. You stood up and pulled him up too, holding his hand with yours.
"It's fine professor! Don't worry! Beside...I don't mind if it is a virus" Len stared at the ground.
"What did you say again? I didn't catch the last part" you asked
"N-nevermind!" He pulled his hand from your grasp before running off to only god know where, left you wondering what did he try to tell you.
