I sighed, as I put my head down to sleep. I hadn't slept in four days straight, and the coffee really couldn't keep me going any longer.

I winced as Riley came tumbling through the door. I was up in an instant. "What is it", I growled

"Logan why didn't you tell me-"

"Address me as Alpha when you speak or don't speak at all."

"He flushed, a delightful shade of red crawling up his cheeks.

"Alpha", he corrected, "why didn't you tell me we are mated?" I raised a brow at that. "And what makes you so sure we are mated?"

"We are, or else I wouldn't be thinking about you like that-"

"Oh? You think about me in a certain way?"

He growled in frustration. "Fine. Be evasive about it. I won't come running back to you when it becomes too much." I laughed quietly to myself as he slammed the door on his way out.

A warewolf found their mate when he or she turned eighteen. After that you pretty much had two weeks to convince your mate to have sex with you and mark them to complete the mating process. If, by those two weeks the mating process had not been completed you would go crazy with lust, and no amount of masturbation or one night stands with anyone other than your mate would satisfy you.

I turned eighteen two years ago. Riley had only been eighteen for a day and a half. I was pretty confident that he would be the one to come running to me, not the other way around.

The next morning, I was woken to the sound of someone pounding on the door. I groaned, and put my pillow over my head. I just wanted to stay in bed and sleep. Jeez. Does head of the pack mean nothing to these people?

"Who the hell is it!" I snarled viciously. The pounding stopped abruptly.

"All righty, get in here", I snapped.

I glared as Jessop walked into my room. The man was my beta and my best friend, and I would definitely give my life up for his, but sometimes, that guy drove me over the edge.

"what do you want?"

"Apparently Riley found his mate."

"And what of it?"

He leaned in to whisper in my ear "Riley gets out of school early today, so I thought I'd take the rest of the pack on a little hunting trip while you guys talk things out."

I stared at him disbelief before slowly breaking out in a smile.

"Jessop?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm assuming you know why I love you, right?"

"Hell yeah", he said laughing.

"Okay then, get going."

"Yessir", he smirked

"And Jessop?"

"Hmph?"

"Take your time."

"I should be saying that to you", he said winking at me.

When he left, I laid back down on the bed for a few hours before finally getting back up to take a shower.

Riley could pretend to be as tough as he wanted, but he and I both knew who the dominant one really was. And when push came to shove, I was going to have him writhing underneath me, begging for more.
