As we head over to get our drinks, i see my sister make her way towards us. "Hey Maritza! We are going to go ahead and leave, Stacey invited us over are you coming?" I am actually a bit disappointed to hear that i have to go so early because i am actually having a  good time. I can't help it and loose my smile as i hear the news.

James must have noticed, because he responds to my sister for me. "Actually, We are having a great time would you mind if she stays with me a little longer? Don't worry i'll take keep her safe." As he finishes, he looks at me for approval. I nod and give him a small smile to let him know its ok with me. My sister, ofcourse, is thrilled to hear that because she always complaining about how i need to enjoy myself and have fun more often. We head on over to get our drinks as my sister leaves. As he starts to order the drinks, I remeber that my purse is in the car and i need to get it before they leave. I excuse myself and tell him that i'm just going to go get my purse and he just nods.

I rush out to the car in hopes that they haven't left already. As i get closer i notice that they are still getting in the car. I immediately feel relieved. I get my purse and wave a goodbye to all of my friends before heading back inside. I turn to go back, when i realize Sam coming towards me. He has a very angry look on his face and i'm hoping he hasn't seen me yet. As he gets closer, i am so anxious and scared because i've never seen him like this before. When he reaches me, he immediately grabs my arm to prevent me from walking away. He tightens his grip as i try to free myself.

"What the hell do you think you are doing! You are acting like a total slut. Why are you with that guy? Is that who you're replacing me with?" The angrier he gets the tighter his grip gets. "ANSWER me for FUCK's sake!" I am so scared i have no idea what to do or say. I keep struggling with his grip, when all of a sudden i hear footsteps behind me.

"Let her go you coward! You have no right, she clearly doesn't want to be with you." As soon as i hear him, my heart speeds up. Sam's grip tightens much more than i thought was possible and then he shoves me behind him. He is drunk because he doesn't realize his  own strenghth, and he ends up pushing me too hard and i fall onto the concrete floor hitting my head and scraping my arms and knees. Everything is happening so quickly. My head feels so dizzy and everything around me is blurry. I turn as soon as i hear them start to fight. Sam punches James right on his jaw and my whole body shakes from the pain he must be in.  James is much  stronger than Sam, he punches Sam repeatedly. I don't think i can keep watching much longer but i know that they are both drunk and neither will stop on their own. I have to stop them.

I don't know what to do. At this point James is clearly winning, and as soon as he backs up to catch his breathe i see my opportunity. I run to him hoping to make him stop.  "James please stop. Let's just leave. Both of you guys are hurt bad enough, i don't want you to get into any trouble. Please lets just go." I can't let them keep fighting, they'll kill each other. I can see the anger in James' face. I reach down for his hand and as soon as he grabs mine, i start to lead him back to the entrance of the club. I am so relieved to be getting away from Sam.

As we wait for the cab, i turn and face James directly. I am still a little dizzy from shock of the fight and from alcohol i consumed earlier. I try my best to examine the damage done to his face but give up shortly because its dark and there isn't enough light to see clearly. The cab finally arrives and i quickly tell the driver the address to my apartment on campus. I can't let him go home like this. I am currently studying to become a Physical Therapist and i've had plenty of health classes already to be able to fix him up. I tell him that his cuts and bruises need to be taken care of. He doens't refuse and we head over. It's not a very long drive to my apartment, so we arrive shortly after.
