2. Rules:
I: General rules //
II: Comment guidelines //
III: Punishments //
IV: Reminders & chances

I:
» Respect everyone. Please, we all are really busy and so we seek your understanding and patience. Do not request to be featured quicker or rush us.

» If you know that you're going to be inactive or off your device for a week or more, you have to inform your group leader so they can excuse you from next week's activities. However, you cannot be excused from an active round; you have to inform us a week earlier.

If you're off Wattpad for more than two weeks, your position in the featured waiting list will no longer move up each round but remain stagnent until you rejoin. This is because it wouldn't be fair to the others who are constantly reviewing that you get to be featured continuously without any effort at all. If you're going to be off for more than five rounds, you'll be temporarily out of the club until you re-apply.

» You have to be able to read any genre other than Random and books with sexual content.

» Your book may be in any genre except for Random. Roleplay books, quotes books, contest books etc will not be accepted.

» You can only enter one book. However, you can switch it up anytime by informing me, cady_chxshire, through PM.

» Your book has to be published -- I mean, duh; with at least one chapter (excluding Cast, Introduction, Forewords etc.)

» You are required to follow your group leaders. They all work very hard to make sure this book club is well-organised. It's optional but strongly encouraged to follow your group members or even the club members.

II (a: Comment guidelines):
» You will have to read and comment on one chapter on each of the three featured books. This means three chapters per week.

» At least three inline comments per chapter, please. While generic comments like: "omg! It's amazing!", "Wow, you're good!" or "great opening!" is acceptable, it is strongly discouraged. Remember, the better your reviews are, the faster it'll get featured. I wish to see at least 4 sentences in total per chapter (adding up all your comments). I want your first password to have a triple chin.

» Tag each and every one of your comments with #HorrereBC.
(Please ensure that you spell Horrere correctly; though I'm aware that the spelling is rather complex).

» After you complete your assignment, make an inline comment next to your name, commenting "completed", followed by tagging your group leader. Make sure you state which chapters you commented on if you've reviewed that particular book once before.

For example: "Completed. Comments on No Smart Kids Allowed on the first and second part; comments on Hide and Seek on third and fourth parts: @Cady_Cheshire"

» Watch the tone of your voice while you are reviewing. I know I said to give them constructive criticism, but I said constructive for a reason. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and it's not respectful if you're rude to them. Punishments may range from remaining stagnent in your waiting list position or even pushed down or kicked out, due the severity.

III (a: punishments): You will receive three warnings for not completing your assignment on time.

The first warning: You will get one cross (×) beside your username. You will remain stagnent in the featured waiting list, meaning while everyone else is moved up per round, you will stay where you are.

The second warning: You will receive a second cross (××) beside your username. You will be pushed down the featured waiting list, meaning that while everyone else is moved up per round, you will go right to the bottom.

If you still don't complete your assignment after three warnings, you're out of the club.

Common misconception: For example, if you miss round 5 and 6, and after that complete round 7, the crosses will not pile up. The two crosses from rounds 5 and 6 will be removed after you turn active again and you'll revert back to having no crosses. Double or triple crosses only come if you've been inactive for 2-3 rounds per row.

Those who receive 2 double crosses at least 3 times, will also be kicked out. If you're confused, scroll down a list for a random round. You'll find quite a number of members with double crosses (those who didn't complete their assignments for 2 consecutive rounds). This means that even if they complete their assignment for this round (as stated in the first rule), yes, they will revert back to having zero crosses, but if they end up with those double crosses two more times, off they go.

If you miss a round, don't procrastinate any longer for your next round. You don't have to care about the previous round you missed anymore (unless you wish to redeem yourself). Just make sure you complete the next one on time.

IV (reminders): Reminders will be made by your group leader and your group leader alone. No, they will not be responsible for reminding you to complete your assignment for that's your responsibility. However, they will only remind you to if you've gotten one or more crosses on beside your username, so it'll ensure that you haven't forgotten about the book club in whole.

3. Holiday breaks

When there's an inportant holiday, we understand that people may busy doing this and that, running errands and attending parties, and so we respect that you'll want to enjoy it without wattpad drama. Thus, here's a list of holiday breaks we give exceptions to throughout the year and the duration of the break.

Christmas Day & New Year's ~ 24 December - 1 January 19 [1 week break]

applicable only to those who celebrates the particular holiday:

Chinese New Year ~ 12 January - 18 January (1 week break): can request to stretch to two weeks if your reunion falls on the later of 15 days

Yep, that's it. Most of the events last for only a day or so and thus we do not give a free pass out (Christmas involves lots of planning, and CNY lasts 15 days so breaks for these are in order).

Any major holidays I missed that you celebrate too, let me know and I can excuse you from it.
