Owl Queen

Part 2: Arrival

Eerin pulled her new robes that her mom had gotten her for school. She gnawed on her bottom lip, nervous because she had not read or heard anything about Hogwarts because every time she asked her mom she would shut her down and tell her to wait and see. Well, now was time, Eerin's mom drove them to the train station and kept repeating "9 and 3 quarters" while she walked Eerin to the train. "Muuuum," Eerin said under her breath "there is no platform 9 and 3 quarters" her mother chuckled as they arrived pulling their cart with Eerin's stuff tied to it, to a halt. "Ok, so you have to run into the wall with your cart" as bizarre as it sounded Eerin hugged her mother good-bye and did as she was told, she squeezed her eyes shut, expecting an impact sending her shooting back looking like a complete idiot trying to run into a wall. But it never came and when she opened her eyes she was on platform 9 and 3 quarters "what the h-" her owl's frightened screeches cut her off. "What?" She said to the screaming owl. "I haven't named you have I?" The owl let out a loud screech as if it agreed. Eerin turned away in total shock at the train. Her eyes widened as a large bearded man approached her "yeh better get on the train" she shivered and slowly and shakily got on the train. She looked back again to see the large man talking to a young boy about her age, with bangs covering most of his forehead and round little glasses. The boy turned her way but at the same time she looked away and got onto the train. She found a spot and began staring out a window half asleep when someone came through the door. A girl with large curly brown hair stepped into the cart Eerin was in, a round faced boy followed "have you seen a toad by any chance?" She said. Eerin got out of her almost sleeping state and answered "n-no?" The girl replied with an eye roll and proceeded to the next cart. Eerin slowly got up and peeked into the cart she had gone into and saw two boys, the one she had seen with the large man and a fiery red head boy with pale skin. The boy caught her gaze again and when the girl closed the door she cut their gaze off. She heard muffled voices and the girl introduced herself as Hermione Granger, what she presumed to be the red-head said he was Ronald Weasly, the other boy said he was Harry Potter. Eerin fell back in surprise. "Oh... My .... God" she whispered. She had heard of Harry Potter, you did not have to read anything to know this boy was famous. Her mother blabbed on and on about how hard it was to stop, the name her mother would not say so Eerin did not know who Harry had stopped, from killing you. She realized how creepy eavesdropping was and laid across the couch/bench and slipped into a deep sleep. Hermione was coming back up the train now and when Hermione reached Eerin's cart she woke her up and said "we are almost there better get freshened up" Hermione gave Eerin a faint smile and walked out of the cart. Eerin rubbed her eyes and got her hairbrush and began brushing her almost black hair. She finished and put her brush back in her bag and stretched. She yawned, then the train's whistle rang out signaling they had arrived at Hogwarts. Eerin leaned up against the window and saw the giant castle come into view.
