The Kingdom Of Dragons

chapter 1

I looked around me, amazed, the land that I had stepped into was beautiful. Green hills and towering mountains were spread and trees littered the surrounding ground. I turned to my friend beside me.
'Kace, look at this place' I breathed.
She nodded, her sapphire coloured hair swishing as the breeze blew it.
I looked down at my gold coloured hair.
'Where are we?' Kace asked me.
I looked at her,'How on earth would I know'
She looked at me with her deap violet eyes and batted her eyelashes innocently.
'Sorry, it's just usually you know all the answers to my questions'
I rolled my eyes and turned my attention back to the lovely scenery. I narrowed my eyes to inspect a little figure scurrying towards us.
'Cat, what is that?' Kace laid a dirty
cut hand on my bare shoulder where my shirt had been ripped away. Little of my shirt remained, just the top part and one sleeve. Where my bare skin showed on my shoulder was a claw mark. Me and kace was a poor sight, both our clothes were nearly identically ripped and we both wore short, tattered, skirts and we were both covered in cuts but it seems that I got all the claw marks.
'We've got to run' I turned to kace,'Go run, now '
I shoved her forwards and she started running. I waited only a moment to quickly take in the strangers appearance. I couldn't see much of him but I knew that, from the sword that was in his hand with a royal symbol carved into it, he was defiantly not good news. I turned and ran to the trees behind me. Kace was waiting for me by the edge of the trees. We needed somewhere to hide- and quick.
'Run into the trees and up one' I breathed in her ear as I ran past her. The man with the sword had not slowen down and was bareing down on us. Kace got the message and ran into the trees just behind me.
'Now' I said over my shoulder.
Without seeing if Kace was climbing a tree I quickly started to scrable up a beautiful oke. My bare feet painfully scraped up against some random sticking out branches as I made my way to the nearest overhanging branch.
'Where have those children gone?' A deap voice rumbled bellow me.
I held my breath as he looked around for us.
Oh no! I noticed one of Kace's feet hanging down, just in line with the large mans' eyes. I caught my breath but just five seconds after I had noticed her foot the man did. He grabbed her foot and harshly tugged her out of the tree. I needed to save her. We had come from a world of kings and warlords. In fact I was the daughter of a warlord. I know what will happen to her if I dont save her NOW. I must have had a second thought but I probably didn't agnolage it. One second after Kace was lying on the floor I launched myself from the tree and landed on the large mans back. My arm was wrapped around his neck and my legs around his stomach. He stumbled in surprise at my attack and then with brute strength threw me off and over his back and I slammed into a giant tree and lay winded, crumpled up against a tree.
Black enveloped me as the man stalked up to me, grumbling angrily. I smiled just before I passed out. I had left him with a black eye.
