"Hey Annie, same as always?" Ray smiled at me while writing down my usual beverage, hot chocolate.
"You know me, Ray", I smiled up at him.
"It'll be ready in a few minutes."
He said while disappearing behind the counter.
I sat on an empty table near the window and placed my bag on the chair. After staring at the snowing streets. I took out my sketch book and drew some lines. I never thought before drawing anything. I just drew as I willed.
Drawing had been my passion. It was a god gift. Never had to learn it as it improved itself over time.
I felt someone bump to me as I felt hot liquid on myself. I looked over to see a pale white girl with an apologetic expression. Besides her skin there was something weird about her. I just couldn't point out.
"O my, I'm so sorry. I didn't see where I was going".
She said looking at the ground and fiddling with her fingers.
"It's alright, no need to apologize".
"B-but I ruined your shirt. And your book. I'm sorry".
I looked at my sketch book, it had a brown stain on it and it was spreading ruining all the pages.
I quickly took some tissue papers and places them over it to absorb the liquid.
I sighed,
"Its alright, miss..."
I trailed off not knowing her name.
"Oh I'm Afaaim"
"Well nice to meet you Afaaim, I'm Danielle".
She shook my hand,
"You can come to my apartment. Its not far, you can have one of my shirts if that's Ok with you."
"Its alright Afaaim, you don't have to worry".
"I insist please, it was my fault your shirt got ruined".
I was about to respond when I heard ray saying my name.
"Please miss Danielle, allow me to fix my mistake. I shall be honoured".
I laughed at that,
"Where did you came from? The 18th century? And please call me Annie".
I picked my hot coco and muffin from the counter and paid for it.
"Lead the way to your apartment,Afaaim".
Her face lit up at that. She had that strange look into her eyes again, but it quickly disappeared as it came.
Something keep yelling at me to run away from her.
I almost wanted to but then, she'll think I broke my promise.
She walked through some buildings to a dark alley looking street.
It smelled weird. The smell got stronger with each passing step.
" ummmm..... Afaaim? A-are you sure this is the right way?"
"Sure Danielle, are you scared?"
Her voice came so confident and happy, I felt shiver run down my spine.
I started backing away from the place, making sure she didn't noticed. I was now regretting trusting people so easily.
Suddenly a twig breaks under my feet. Scared I look at the stopping figure of Afaaim.
"Now now, its very bad to betray people. Master wouldn't be so pleased when he hears about this".
She says turning towards me, her ghostly while skin had a few veins and nerves showing and her eyes were now black.
I wanted to scream as her figure grew by every passing second.
Her laugh pierced through my ears.
I tried to cover my ears to stop the screeching sound. My legs felt so weak.
I felt her approaching towards me. Her rotting nails came into my view.
The screeching sound grew more and more intense with every passing second. I tried to scream but no voice came out.
This was the end of me.
I didn't wanted to die like this.
