Everything's Different

chapter 1

After almost a year away Hermione is back after working on a very fragile case for the ministry.

not knowing how long she would be away she moved out of her apartment and put most of her things in storage.

Hermione walks down the hallway bags in one hand room key in the other stopping at the door with the silver numbers 18 which match the tag on the keys she's holding she unlocks the door and goes in.

Setting her bags down on the hotel floor she sets the keys on the end table.
she lies down on the bed and lets out a heavy breath she can't help but feel better now that she's back in London back home she knows Molly will object to her staying in a hotel until she finds a new apartment but as much as the burrow is her second home after being away for so long she's gotten quite used to having her own space and she's gotten used to the piece and quiet.
Seeing the time she decides she better shower and get ready otherwise she'll be late she can't help but feel butterflies and her excitement overflow as it's been so long since she seen everyone.

At the burrow.

Harry is sitting in the living room with Arthur Bill Sirius and Remus though he can't seem to focus on the conversation they're having can't help himself from glitching at his watch and the Floo knowing Hermione should be arriving anytime.
Harry and Ginny are the only ones that know Hermione is back in London.
he and Ginny decided not to tell anyone else and keep it a surprise though he knew he would get a scolding from Molly later it would be well worth it.

Hermione Hotel

When she was done showering and dressed she made her way down to the lobby where there was a floo she could use.
She grabbed a handful of floo powder she stepped inside and paused for a moment taking a deep breath before clearly saying the burrow.
before she knew it she was emerging from the floo in the burrow living room.

After taking a moment to collect her senses she looked up from the floor to see in front of her sitting on the sofa Sirius looking slightly shocked sitting next to him Arthur looked more surprised than she had ever seen him and sitting by his father on the arm of the sofa is Bill with a small smirk.

sitting in the chair to her right she sees Remus looking into his green eyes makes her realize how much she's missed him though she would never admit it to anyone except for Ginny she's had a crush on him since he was her teacher after the war they became quite good friends and she started to care for him.

Being pulled out of her thoughts buy movement from the corner of her eye she turns to her left to see Harry grinning ear-to-ear standing up from his chair walking towards her and pulling her into one of the bone breaking hugs she's missed.

Feeling a hand on her shoulder she turns to see Arthur looking at her and he says with a soft smile" I'll go and tell everyone you're home" Harry loosens his grip as Arthur heads to the backyard followed by Bill where the rest of the family is enjoying the nice weather.

Sirius and Remus stand up and walk to her Sirius takes her hand and pulls her into a light hug while saying " I've missed you pet".

Before she has a chance to pull away from Sirius and give Remus a hug she hears Molly behind her " oh Hermione dear come here let me have a look at you are you alright have you been eating enough you look far too skinny" Molly suddenly stops talking and pulls her into a tight motherly hug and Whispers "it's good to have you home dear" she pulls away from Molly and looks towards the entrance of the room to see Fred George Ron and Ginny she immediately walks over and hugs Ginny who hugs back without hesitation she and Ginny owled each other constantly over the past year and she's not sure what she would have done without that contact from home.

Looking over at Ron he pulls her into a hug her and Ron have never dated besides a few kisses during the war Ron has been more like a brother. Pulling her away from Ron
Fred and George sandwich her into a hug between them and say in unison
" it's good to have you home mione" after a few moments of the twins smothering her Molly pipes in
" Fred George come and help in the kitchen you too Ginny"
Hermione has to admit she feels a bit relieved when the Four Leave the room because she was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed.

Remus POV.

Sitting on the sofa across the room from Hermione while she talks with Arthur and Bill about Ministry business.
I can't seem to tear my attention away from her.
I'm not quite sure how but she seemed different from the Hermione that left us a year ago I suppose before she left I still thought of her as one of my students.
I can't tell you when it happened but she has grown into quite the beautiful young which.
I finely tear my eyes away from her when I hear Sirius chuckling next to me
" how many more years well I have to watch you stare at her like that when you should be doing something about it" Sirius smirks raising his eyebrow

"and what is that supposed to mean" I say glancing back at Hermione before giving my full attention to Sirius.

"Oh Mooney I've been watching you Pine over that girl for years but I know you won't do anything about it without a little push" he says a sly grin spreading across his face.

Feeling my mouth fall open in shock I don't get a chance to reply to sirius before Molly comes in to tell us Supper is finished and to come eat before it gets cold.
