what is the ocean? dark, mysterious waters that offer no mercy, comfort, solace or solution. endless waves beating rocks and lost ships senseless, ships being unable to fight back. because whatever those never-ending waters decided to do with you was your fate. there was no defeating the ocean. there was only doing what it wanted.
all ships were lost. it didn't matter if they had a chosen path, or were just drifting for the hell of it. they were lost. the ocean had no end. infinite murky waters, swallowing lost things whole. the ocean is a monster, and we were its meal, for everything has to eat, and the ocean is no different.
do you ever see what looks like a boat floating in the dark? but when you get closer, the orb only gets smaller and smaller, until eventually it's just another star in the dark sky. you swore that it was a ship, but no one believed you. but deep down, you knew it was another vessel swallowed by the sea.
you fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. waves rocking you back and forth, cradling you in its gentle arms. it's like it's calling for you, begging you to jump in, telling you that everything will be better in folds of its peaceful waves. but it's just a monster, trying to lure you in, trying to swallow you, for everything has to eat, and the ocean is no different.
the sea monster has eaten so much, but it's starving, it just wants more. the more it consumes, the hungrier it gets. it's selfish, not caring about anyone or anything else. its hunger has swallowed everything else whole.
merciless creatures hide in its depths. creatures that spare no lives. creatures that will finish you off if the ocean doesn't get to you first. instantly, sharks come to mind. but there are other, deadlier creatures that we aren't aware of. they like to stay hidden, so they can strike when you least expect it, because that's the only thing they'll get for awhile. it's rare to get to something before the sea does, so it has to be taken advantage of when it happens.
those creatures are by no means as deadly as the sea monster. the sea monster destroys everything in its path, no matter how big or important. everything is just the same in its eyes.
the sea watches you. it never takes its eyes off of you. the second you step on a boat, or lounge on a beach, you instantly belong to the monster. and that's when it never stops watching you. because it's starving. it's starving for you, for your life, because the more it's eats, the hungrier it gets. for everything has to eat, and the ocean is no different.
the sea is bigger than everything, even life itself. no one has seen the true bottom. there is no bottom. its a never-ending pit of blackness, filled with secrets.
the secrets will kill you. they reach up from its depths and drag you down. you know that you'll never see the light of day again, because those secrets are powerful, so much stronger than you, and your death is inevitable. eventually, you give up, because what's the point in fighting now? you know you'll lose, and you'd rather go down easily and without pain than put up a fight. because you'll lose and nothing will change that.
the sea is a person. it offers no mercy, comfort, solace or solution. there are deadly secrets that will finish you off. there are things hidden in its depths that will swallow you whole. because it's hungry, and selfish. it destroys everything in its path, because everything is just the same in its eyes.
you are the ocean. empty and full at the same time. selfish, needy, hungry. beautiful, yet hidden with deadly secrets that will swallow you and everything else around you. for everything has to eat, and the ocean is no different.
