*Niall's P.O.V.*

I watched her, place a napkin on her lap over the covers she was under as Cassandra placed the tray over her as Cassandra bowed and sat on the chair, next to the bed. It didn't seem that that the girl...Serenity had no reaction to when I told her I was a Demon King. She seemed to be more scared of King Thomas than me but I would consider that I'm scarier because of my black eyes. I remember every time I went crazy and killed anyone in my sight, Princess Serenity would place her hands on my cheeks, despite unable to control my anger, she'd be able to calm me down..just by her touch. I closed the door and relaxed my back on the door with my eyes closed to relax myself, especially when I fought Thomas and his demons.

"Why not go rest?" The familiar voice asked.

I turned to my right and saw Zayn, leaning on the wall on his left side. He continued to watch me as his demon tail was pointing up and his purple eyes glowed. Zayn was a worthy fighter in the war against Thomas and to this day, he still hasn't lost his ways of fighting. After my parents found him on the streets and found out he was able to use dark magic, they took him in and my brother trained him to fight. He was the last of his kind, Arcane Demons. Zayn was young when his family and group were murdered, but because powers are hereditary, it was no problem to have powers; it was difficult for him to control his dark magic since my family never came from magic.

"How can I rest when I have so much stuff to worry about?" I told him, "I have to protect the Princess, find my brother, keep my kindom up, keep everything at peace...all while I am king."

"You realize you are not alone...correct, My Lord?"

My eyes widened a bit. I never heard Zayn call me, my parents or even my brother lord...ever. He always called us by our names, which my parents did not mind, since his group and where they were located had no Kings or Queens; just communities who were voted into power. My brother hated being called a lord or Prince whenever someone addressed him and would be better to call him by his name. It made me feel nice to be called Prince or lord, but Zayn was more used to calling me by my name.

"I know," I told him, laying my head on the door, "But I am NOT giving you boys the stress that I have accepted as King of the Demons in Ireland."

"We do not mind, My Lord," Another voice echoed the hall.

I looked to the left and saw Liam, smiling at me as he was joined by Louis and Harry on each side of him with his spear in its leather scabbard, on his back. His weapon, The Death Spear, is a hand-me-down from his father, who used it after his father and so on. The spear usually passed down to the males of the family in the village Liam is from, but if a demon were a female demon in the family, they were taught to use bows or crossbows, depending what made them comfortable. If the girl did not feel comfortable at all to fight, she is allowed to back out without being judged and can help feed others who have offered to fight in her place or the ones already fighting. The community in Liam's village don't view the women as objects for they are the stronger species. From what I have heard, the female demon can murder someone mentally, in their sleep, but they have to be able to control that type of ability or else a female demon could go mad. So far, I've never heard stories a female demon from that village go crazy from that ability.

"Like they say," Louis added, "Whatever is your pain, is ours as well."

"We took oaths under your parents' rule," Harry mentioned, "We will always help Prince Niall with whatever trouble comes to him."

"King...," I corrected him.

"Well now yes," Liam laughed, "But, back then you were a Prince."

"Now, go rest," Zan said, "Before we make you go rest, King Niall."

"Fine fine," I sighed.

*Serenity's P.O.V.*

"I see," I answered, "And when his eyes turn black?"

"That's when someone that he loves the most is injured or killed and he MUST get his revenge," Cassandra answered, "You shouldn't get too close to him during this form because he has no control of himself and will kill anyone who is in his way."

"And he has no idea if it's you or not?"

"No. And if he found out that he killed you...."

Cassandra went silent. I looked at her with worried eyes and confusion on my face. What would happen if King Niall were to kill me..? I was able to hear the owls making their howling sounds as the leaves ruffled in the wind, even if the windows were closed and secured. Finally, I was the one to break the silence.

"What would happen if King Niall was to kill me...?"

"He'd kill himself," Cassandra said, quietly, "He wouldn't be able to live with himself and the mistake he had made."

I was shocked that I covered my mouth. I wouldn't want him to harm himself because he killed me. It would be my fault for getting in his way, especially when he's in a form that he cannot control! I was about to answer her when there was a knock at the door, which caused me to flinch a little as we both looked towards the big, white doors. Cassandra orders for the person to enter and I watched King Niall walk in, with a mixture of looking guilty in disrupting our conversation and looking exhausted. Cassandra stood up, with worry on her face and walked up to him.

"My King..," She said, voice full of worry, "You must go rest."

"I don't need rest," He said, sighing, "I'm fine."

"Rest is good for you," I mentioned, "It replenishes your energy and you will be able to do what you need to do without feeling exhausted. And if you try to fight King Thomas in this condition, he will kill you and....and I don't want that to happen."

They both turned to me as King Niall began to blush at my words. I realized what I did and looked away, playing with my fingers in the process, beginning to blush myself.

"I...I apologize for speaking when not being spoken to," I said, making no eye contact.

"Don't be silly, Your Highness," King Niall answered, "You have higher authority than I do, Princess Serenity."

I looked up and saw him, smiling with his eyes twinkling. I wasn't able to keep myself from staring into his eyes. I did not want to be called Princess; until I am able to see my past with my own eyes, I do not want to be called Princess.

"If you want to be named something else," King Niall mentioned, "Just say it and I will grant it."

I looked shocked at him as his face turned more red than before.

"Apologies. It's hard to control your powers when it's mind control. And you can call me Niall and Niall only."

I giggled before nodding with a smile. I watched as a smile came across Niall's face. I was about to say something when he heard a big crash, as the castle shook and some paintings and vases falling. Niall ran towards me as I looked around, scared. I felt Niall's arms around me when Cassandra's eyes were glowing.

"Lady Cassandra...?" I asked, scared.

"King Thomas attacked the kingdom," She said, eyes still glowing, "His army is here as well."
