Cause baby you look happier, you do.
My friends told me, one day,
I'll feel it too
"Kapag sinuswerte ka nga naman." Amanda whispered and sighed. She stood from a distance watching her greatest love tie the knot.
"What are the odds?" She came to ask for a sign for her to finally move on and find someone new. Or maybe just move on.
"Ang sabi ko, sign lang Lord. Ang sakit po pala masampal ng katotohanan."
She didn't notice how her tears slowly escaped from her eyes. Time heals all wounds they say, they lied.
"I bet you're the last quote and quote girlfriend."
"I was not." She lied. "Sino ka ba?" She roared back, annoyed. But she took the hanky the man offered her anyway.
"Kung di ka girlfriend, while she's with her, another fling?"
Nagpantig ang tenga n'ya sa narinig but she stopped herself from reacting violently.
"Sino ka ba?"
"Best friend n'ya." He looked at the church's entrance and as if on cue, the newlyweds came out of it with people welcoming them with so much joy.
"You mean the best friend who fell for her?"
She asked, no, more of stated the obvious as she noticed how he looks at her with full of admiration, of love.
"Was it my fault she was that easy to love?"
I wonder if there would be someone out there who would talk about me with such passion, with so much adoration. I saw him smiled for the first time and I swear it is a pained one.
"And was it also my fault she was that difficult to forget?"
"Is she?" I asked as if to disapprove. "If she is, then why did it took him so much time to fully love her; and why was is it so easy for him to find someone else to replace her while she was trying her best to prove him her worth?"
He looked at me with wonder in his eyes and asked, "Were you talking about her or are you referring to yourself?"
I was taken aback. I tried to recall the words that came out of my mouth. Ano nga ba? I looked away.
"That's okay. Gaano katagal ka ba n'yang nilandi?" He chuckled upon seeing me squint my eyes onto him. Grabe, walang preno yung bibig.
"I always caught him. A lot of times but she wouldn't believe me because you know, love."
And then there's that pained smile again. No, wait. His smile is alluring and his eyes, damn his eyes are expressive.
"And I was one of those pansamantala habang magkaaway sila." I finally admitted. "I belived him when he said he was single up to the day I saw an engagement ring na hindi pala para sa akin."
"It isn't your fault you trusted him because you loved him."
Loved? I looked at the groom, my supposed to be groom, and perfect! Wow, timing's a bitch. They kissed.
"Let's go?" He offered me a helmet and gave me a small smile.
"I don't even know your name."
"It's Nathaniel. Let's go and let's stop hurting ourselves here."
I don't know what's with this guy but I went with him in a hill overviewing a nice scenery of the sea where the waves wash the shore and splash the big rock formations and--
