Walk into the worlds of two different people, Michelle and Cairo. Born into two different families , Michelle and Cairo go through struggles but different in their own way.
Michelle Janae Carter. Born into a rich family, she never had to struggle for anything. Her parents spoiled her , got her anything she wanted, but all that didn't cover for what she really wanted Love. Michelle's parents Micheal and Lauren were never home , they were always working. Micheal who is a doctor was always on call, and Lauren being a lawyer she was always out of town , because she was a damn good lawyer. They barely made time for Michelle, when they were home they never paid attention to her. They were always in their office doing "business" and when they were finished they were right back out the door and back to work. Their excuse was always "We are doing this for you honey" or "Sweetie you know we love you , and this is for you, so you wouldn't have to struggle." Which was all bullshit to Michelle, she thought that they didn't want her which is why they weren't there. But all that changed when Michelle left for college. She moved to New Orleans to pursue her dreams of becoming a hair stylist, and also becoming the best cook ever. She never looked back and continued with her life. She still keeps in touch with her parents. They put money in her bank account that she never uses, they always complain about her using it, but they will get over it. She plans on using the money to open her salon and restaurant when she finished her degrees. Until then she will work on her own to survive by any means.
Khalil "Cairo" Wright. Was born into a middle class family. His mother Karen, worked two jobs just to keep a roof over her and her two sons and daughters head. Their dad Sean left when Na'Zayah was born, they never knew why but their mom let them know everything was gon be alright. When Cairo was 17 , their mother got sick with cancer. Travis had already left the house for college and was in the "game" as well , and Nana was only 10. Cairo then joined the "game" to pay for his moms medical bills , keep a roof over their heads, and food in their stomachs. Their mother died three years later, because the cancer had spread through out. Their grandma Dianne took them in and cared for them. Cairo and Travis was still in the game , which their grandma disapproved strongly but she let her grandchildren learn the hard way. Now at 22, Cairo and his brother are at the top of the game , while still going to college to pursue their dreams of being a chef.
