the girls finally sat down with the boys and started grabbing a slice of pizza, while gaten already grabbed two slices, one slice on each hand. gaten had his first bite and moaned, "my god! thank you world for making pizza!" the rest of the group just shook their heads.
"so, anyone up for a truth or truth?" sadie requested. everyone immediately shouted me! in unison except for millie. "why not truth or dare?" she asked.
"dares are fun but we hate moving so," gaten stated. "more like you hate moving," caleb corrected. gaten jokingly spilled some soda on caleb while the group laughed, entertained by the duo's instant arguments.
sadie grabbed an empty bottle and started spinning. the top part of the bottle pointed at sadie and the bottom part pointed at millie. "okay new girl, ask me anything you want,"
millie thought for a few seconds until she finally came up with a question, "who in the group would you like to date?" gaten and noah made an ooohhh sound in unison while caleb just looked at sadie, expectantly waiting for an answer.
sadie immediately looked directly at caleb as well but they both looked away when they shared eye contact. millie couldn't help but smile at the two secret lovebirds. "i- i don't know, i treat all of them as my- uh, my brothers so tha- that would be weird,"
millie looked at gaten and noah and the three of them mouthed, stutter means liar. gaten rolled his eyes playfully, "okay cale- i mean sadie, if you say so," millie, noah and gaten giggled. entertained by the sight of caleb and sadie, blushing.
they played truth or truth for about 45 more minutes when millie suddenly thought of something to ask for everyone. "hey guys," the rest of the group stopped talking and raised their eyebrow at millie.
"why are you guys here?" millie hesitantly asked.
the group looked at each other for a few seconds until gaten was the first one to answer millie's question.
"chronic kidney disease,"
"emphysema," caleb followed.
"lung cancer," noah revealed.
"leukemia," millie said while looking at her group, trying not to let her tears fall.
there was a deafening silence for a few minutes, all party members were deep in thought until sadie talked, "why does it have to be us?"
all of them knew that they were all asking themselves the exact same question their whole lives, but they also know that none of them knew the answer.
this is how their lives were supposed to happen. and there was nothing they can do about it.
gaten kneeled down and gestured the others to kneel down as well, they all followed and gave each other a group hug.

millie walked down the hallway alone to go back to her room as she just finished hanging out with her group at the rooftop.
i'm so full. she circled her tummy with her palm.
millie was about to go inside her room when she heard another loud bang that came from room 316. "fuck!"
