There once was a woman who could not bare a child. She tried and tried but nothing. Her husband comforted his wife knowing how much she wanted to be a mother. One day she prayed to the goddess of fertility, Aphrodite. "Please Aphrodite I would love to bare a child to love. I want a little one to call mine." After about a year Aphrodite gave the woman what she deeply desired. The woman became pregnant and wept in joy. Her husband held his wife in his arm and shouted, "I'm going to be a daddy." Nine months later the woman gave birth to a little boy they named him Asher which means blessing. Little did she know that happiness comes with a price.

A years later the woman was still gleaming in happiness that little Asher was here and all hers. She thanked Aphrodite everyday. Asher had long Jet Black hair with big Baby Blue eyes. The only this that worried her was that it was his first day of high school and she knows how mean other kids can be. Though she thought that he was scared or worried, Asher was quite the opposite. He really didn't care if he kept being home schooled or not, he just wanted his mom to get and keep a job for once. He wanted her to make her own money. So when she came to Asher saying that she needs to get a job he was happy for her. So if that meant he had to go to school so be it.

That sunny Thursday morning at 6 Asher got up and turned his alarm off. Sitting up and rubbing the sleep from his eyes he knew today was going to be a heck of a long day. While eating his breakfast his father came down the stairs in his uniform. Smiling at Asher he asked, " You excited for your first day?" Asher didn't say a word instead he just nodded his head to show that he heard him. His father kept smiling and waved good bye while walking out the room. His mother on the other hand was hysterical about leaving Asher to go to a public school for the first time. She walked behind Asher and hugged him tightly. She started to cry as she said, "Mommy will see you at 5 tonight. I hope that you and a grand day at school." Again Asher did not care. All he wanted to do at this point is eat the rest of his cereal in peace.

Wen Asher finally got to finish his cereal it was 6:30 in the morning. Asher sighed as his mother hugged him goodbye and cried the whole time. To Asher it was like the movies he used to watch where it's the child's first day of preschool and the child would cling to his mother balling his eyes out not wanting her to leave. He really didn't care about her crying, instead he just wanted to get dressed. After about 3 minutes of his mother crying on his shoulder she looked and him and waved her hand. Than finally she walked out the door. Asher didn't waste anytime walking to his room to get dressed. He threw on a Black and Gray plaid button up shirt with acid washed Blue Jeans. When he was done he walked to the bathroom to do his hair. He plugged in his straightener to preheat it. As he waited for it to heat up he washed his face with soap and water. After drying his face he looked to see if it had heated up. Still not heated he walked to his room to get his socks on. When he walked back into the bathroom he knowest that it was finally heated. So he brushed and straightened his hair. After his hair was all brushed and straightened Asher unpluged the straightener out from the wall and put it away. After the cleanup was done he walked to the door to put on this shoes. His shoes were old Black converse that he got years ago. When he was done tieing his shoes Asher grabbed his bag full of school supplies and his lunch and walked out the door.

Being the new kid is never easy, but this was a whole new chapter in Asher's life. He never had any friends because he never really went out. So before he walked on to campus he raised his head and prayed to Eirene, "Please Eirene I don't want any trouble today. Please make today peaceful." That day was everything other than peaceful. He was thrown to the wall walking to class. Was called many names like skinny forin kid. When lunch came around kids took his lunch and through it in the trash and told him that his lunch is at his house. Asher knew that they were just being jerks and soon this will all blow over.

After school was over Asher sighed and grabbed his things and went to the library. He wanted to find something to read because he didn't have to much to do today. Looking at the various shelves of books to choose from. Breathing heavily he walked tored the mysteries to find something to read. Reading each title on the binding he searched for acceptable book. He stopped when he found a book called "Death At Gills Rock". To Asher this sounded like a decent beel to read, so he checked it out and started his way home.

When Asher arrived home he started his homework on the couch listening to "Before I forget" by Slipknot. When he finished his homework he took out his earbuds and set everything down on his backpack. Asher then walked into the kitchen and cleaned the dishes from the night before, cleaned the counters, and swept the floor. When that was all done he heard the door open. Asher turned around to see his father home from work. With a smile his father patted his shoulder and asked'" How was your first day?" Asher didn't want to say what happened today so he replied in a monotone voice, "It was fine." His father chuckled at his response. Asher looked at his dad and asked,"What is for dinner tonight?" His father winked at him and replied,"I thinking oven baked salmon on a bed of rice and vegetables topped with a light teriyaki sauce." Asher felt delighted because even though this school thing was a bust there is nothing like home cooking. Asher walked out to the living room and sat on the couch. He grabbed "Death At Gills Rock" and open it to the first page. After reading about Thirty Eight pages he fell asleep to a good book and the smell of teriyaki sauce. About twenty minutes later his mother came into the door and went straight into the kitchen. She looked at her husband in worry. The husband chuckled and said, "I declare that our son came home safe and sound. Now i'm stuck cooking. For dinner tonight my fair maiden we are having oven baked salmon on a bed of rice and vegetables with a light teriyaki sauce." She couldn't help by smiling and replied," You noble man I married I thank you for your sacrifice. I am glad our son come home safely. So where is he now?" He looked back at her and said,"Take a glance in the living room and then thou shalt find our son." With a small chuckle she walked over to the living room to find Asher asleep on the couch with a book on his chest. With a soft smile she grabbed the book and put a slip of paper into where he last last off. Then she grabbed a blanket and covered her son. Then walked into the bathroom to take a shower.

Soon later Asher was awoken by the loud dinner bell. Stretching and rubbing his eyes his dad walked in and announced, " Dinner is up and hot wait to long it will get cold." With a chuckle Asher got up and walked to the dinner table. Smiling his mother greeted him with another hug. She could squeeze the life out of him at his point. But Asher could care less. As long as she was happy then her was happy. At dinner it went the same as usual. They ate and talked about there day. Asher kept all the bad things that happened a secret so that his mom would stay and work like a normal adult. After dinner Asher did the dishes while his father cleaned the stove and his mother cleaned the table.

After the dishes were all done Asher decided after this long he deserved a long hot shower. So he walked into the bathroom and got ready for his shower. Asher first started by brushing his teeth and flossing. Then he turned on the water so that it would heat up while he stripped all his cloths off. After the water was warm enough he hopped in and let the heat take him into his happy place. The feeling of the hot water was amazing. His once tense muscles were now more relaxed. About five minutes of just standing there he started to wash his hair and body. When he felt like he was clean enough he turned off the water and stepped out of the shower and was met with freezing cold are. Grabbing the folded towel off the toilet he wrapped it around him. After that Asher dried off his entire body and got into his clean boxers. Walking out of the bathroom he walked to the living room he got all of the things he would need into his backpack and set it by the door. After he was done with everything he walked to his room and shut the door. Asher was quite tired and he knew that he only had to endure one more day before the weekend. He knew what he wouldn't really get a break because the weekend both of his parents will be gone until Monday and that he had to watch his young cousin Elle who is Six months old. With a heavy sigh he also knew that he needed to get up 30 minutes earlier because he had to make his own lunch for the next day since his parents are going to work extra early. So resetting his alarm to 5:30 AM he curled up and passed out.
