Lea was coming home from school physically and mentally exhausted. It was Friday. The field trip will be tomorrow.
Lea rang the doorbell of her house.
"Coming" said her mom who was inside.
She opened the door.
"Evening honey!" greeted her mom
"Evenin' mom..." she replied
They ate dinner. It was baked macaroni with a side mashed potato. Yum...
Lea finished her dinner and kissed her mom goodnight; she went upstairs and jumped to her bed.
Sun shone through Lea's curtains.
It was Saturday; it's field trip day!
Lea woke up with sounds of ringing, not by her alarm clock but with her cellphone.
She picked it up, "Hallow..." she said with her eyes closed.
It was Aubrey
"Where are you? Are you coming? You're late! We're about to leave! Hurry up, girl!" shouted Aubrey
Lea looked at her desk clock.
Oh my God! It's already 6:00 and I'm not even dressed! she thought
Lea frantically hopped out of her bed leaving Aubrey hanging. She took a bath (quickly). She brushed her teeth (quickly). And she dressed (quickly).
She managed to do them all in 6 minutes. She rushed to her school and got there at 6:15.
The trip took 2 hours. 2 long and boring hours.
Aubrey was with her, but her soundproof earphones were stuck to her ear; she wasn't much help to ease the boredom of the trip.
Finally, Lea saw a garden with flowers trimmed liked the word FB.
Soft murmers echoed through the bus at the sight of the garden.
They had the tour and learned a lot.
They learned about the eye-roll button to be added beside the like button (remember a time when someone posted an insignificant thing and you were like, "whatever" eye roll button is the solution for that prob).
They went back to the bus and travelled for an another hour.
They arrived at an antique shop.
The design of the building was so intricate. Two giant ivory doors were greeting them to come in.
The students went inside and saw different stuff like old portraits of barons and baronesses.
There were also old weapons.
The were 16th century swords and shields. There were old wooden bows with some of their arrows. The old books were on top of the shelves. Every shelf has 5 or 6 books on top of it.
Lea's first instincts tingled in her mind *books... books... books... books... books
She saw an old ragged book on top of the farmost shelf to her right.
The book was like calling her...
