I pull out my phone. I need help with the plan and he is the best option.

Me:
Meet me at Cold Stones. We need to talk.

The other James:
Be there as soon as I can.

He always replies so quick. I don't even get a chance to say "And we wait."

I enter the Cold Stones and Monroe is already sitting there, two ice creams in front of him. I take a set.

"What do we need to talk about?" Monroe asks.

"This is not easy to say. Feel free to shot me down because I don't want it to feel like I'm using you. Oh god... I feel like a terrible person." I said. This went over better in my head.

"I know what you want me to do. And yes. I'll do it. Date night is the second Saturday of every month." Monroe said, oddly calm. I must have been staring at him for a few seconds to a minute because he snapped his fingers in front of my face.

"You... You know what I was going to say?" I asked. He nodded. "How?"

"Because I know you. You want to make Jefferson jealous so you turn to me to fake being your boyfriend. I honestly figured it out with you saying you didn't want to use me." Monroe said. Sometimes I love this man. He gets me and doesn't make me say the hard things.

"Thank you. And why date night? We don't have to go on any dates..." I said.

"Yes we do. You want to make Jefferson jealous then you are going to have to make this look real. It starts at noon on the second Saturday on each month at Cold Stones, then we can go where ever you want after but I know you want Cold Stones." He said, eating some of his ice cream in-between sentences.

I nodded. "Okay." Is all I could say. Thomas and I never really had a date night so this might be fun.

"You know. Today is the second Saturday of October and it's past noon." Monroe said, smiling at me.

"Does that mean this is our first date?" I joked. He nodded. I laughed.

"Where do you want to go after this?" He asked.

"I want to watch Mean Girls at your place. You have the big TV." I said, laughing at wanting to watch Mean Girls of all things.

Monroe laughed too and nodded. He grabbed his ice cream and got up. We walked to his car and went to his place. (I'm glad I walked here. I only live like 3 minutes away.) And when we got to his place we watched Mean Girls. It was awesome.

I spent the night at his house. He slept on the couch so I could sleep in his bed. I fell asleep wondering if it was truly okay with him.
