"Why did it have to be today of all days?"
The scratching in my throat intensified as I tried to drink the hot tea I had prepared myself. It was an ungodly hour, and sleep persuaded my body to succumb. However tonight I had to get it done, I was so close to a breaking point. Around my room there were piles of paper. It all was going to be worth it though. I was going to prove everyone wrong, and they weren't going to know what hit them. I smiled to myself looking over to the doll I had been keeping for the past few years. "The time is near Belial, just you wait."
----
"Good morning everyone! My name is Sonata Jinx and I am here to prove how science can explain the existence of an unearthly presence. I can tell you're thinking- wow, Dr. Jinx has gone delusional!" I began, watching the crowd of scientific advisors gaze with an irking glare. I smiled to myself as I reached for Belial.
"Everyone, I'd like you to greet my friend, Belial. Now, Belial isn't your ordinary doll. Belial is a true friend, and he will explain to you the rest of my speech." I state, getting a quiet laughter from the back row. I looked towards the rag doll who sat upon the marble counter next to some of my other materials. The room became silent, as if my onlookers began to disapprove.
"Dr. Jinx, where should I begin?" a childish voice rang through the room, almost as if it were a 5 year old boy.
"Right- tell them about how Biology relates to you please, Belial." I state, watching the mortified reaction of my elders.
"I am Belial, and Dr. Jinx is my best friend! She told me that through the usage of the hippocampus, you could unlock the secrets to many things. This is as she puts it- tier one." Belial starts, the doll beginning to spasm.
The reactions of my supervisors were going as planned. I wouldn't have to be a Biologist anymore by the end of this- no I could be the first supervisor on the science behind Tier four! I will be famous, and if I'm lucky I'll even have people recognizing me on the streets! My theory would be taught to children, it will be everywhere!
"Tier one is everything you're accustomed to. The people, animals, plants, ground, sky- this is all apart of tier one. Most humans will only ever achieve tier one because they do not understand the concept of the inhuman spectrum." Belial continues, the doll slowly lifting from the table. Everyone was glued to their seats, my joy was unfathomable!
"Tier two is the concept of what if? These are the possibilities or ideas humans will possess. Most people call the stage highly imaginative." Belial states, the doll's head tilting toward the side.
"In tier three, we begin to discuss telepathy, telekinesis, and other abilities that the brain has the capacity to control. However the likelihood of figuring out how to access that part of the brain is nearly impossible." The child like voice chittered. People began to panic quietly, however they were intrigued in trying to figure out the cause of Belial.
Belial stopped, giving a glance to me, as if to signal me to begin. I walked over the table, grabbing 3 different vials. "In these are chemicals we already posses in the body, however, mixed with other compounds, they can create what I would call a portal- a portal to tier 4." I snickered, inserting the compounds into a syringe. "Belial, are you prepared?" I politely inquisited watching the doll fall to the floor. I took the fall as my cue, injecting the chemical into my body.
I could hear, see, and talk still. I watched the doctor's who sat at the edge of their seat's with a pleased look. "Oh Belial~ where are you?" I inquired playfully, as I felt the serum take effect. My veins became a fluorescent neon blue, which proved it was working. I knew how I would look after the transformation, besides this wasn't my first time. I felt my vocal chords shifting which caused an intense pain, causing me to cry out in pain, falling to the floor.
