Chapter 1

Jane POV.

I laid in bed thinking whether I should get up and go to school today.

I sighed and got up before my mom comes in here yelling.

I went into my restroom, took a body shower and brushed my teeth.

I looked in my closet to find something to wear today.

"This will do."

Some ripped skinny jeans, with some sperrys and black short sleeve turtle neck. I laid my clothes on my bed.

I sat in my vanity, straighten my hair and did my makeup. It's the first day of senior year, you know ya girl had to show ouuut!

My phone went off, I quickly checked it before going back to blending my eyeshadow.

Ryan 😍 ; I can't wait to see you today baby! 😘

I smiled.

Jane ; me either boo!

I tossed my phone back on my bed.

*1 hour later*

"Jane mija se te va hacer tarde!"

{ Jane you're going to be late}

"Ay voy!"

I quickly grabbed my purse and thew everything I needed for the day.

I kissed my mom on the cheek.

"Morning mommy." I sat down to eat what she had cooked.

"You ready to start your senior year today?"

My mom spoke as we ate our breakfast.

"Yes! I'll be done with high school. Then off to college."

"You're growing up so fast mija, enjoy your last year. Trust me you'll miss it."

My phone went off it was a message from Mariah.

Mariah 👯❤️ ; on my way.

"Is that Ryan?" My mom asked.

"No, Mariah. She's on her way."

"Oh okay. I guess I'll take your car today since it's blocking me."

I searched my purse and handed the keys to my mom.

Soon there was a honk.

I grabbed my things and quickly kissed my mom's cheek.

"Adios mami."

"Quidate mija, que Dios te bendiga."

August POV

"August get up! It's your first day of senior year!" My momma came in yelling.

I hid in the covers even more.

"Boy if you don't get out that damn bed!!!" My mom pulled the covers off.

"I'm up ma." I opened my eyes before getting up.

"Breakfast is ready so hurry." She shut my door.

I went down the hall to go shower and get ready. We had just moved to Houston from New Orleans this summer because of my stepdad's job.

Being the new kid should be fun.

We all sat down for breakfast.

Me, my mom, stepdad, my sister, stepsister, stepbrother and my two brothers.

"Ya ready for senior year Aug?" My brother Trav asked.

"Ready ta get it ova wit."

"Make sure ya fin yaself a lil shawty, Houston got some bad ones." My brother Smoke added.

I laughed.

"Ya crazy. Shiiiit I might."

The cafeteria was crowded as the students waited for it to be 8:15 to go to their first class of the day.

Jane was sitting with her friends talking also waiting on Ryan and his friends to arrive.

August walked in with his sister and step sister.

"Looks like we gotta say togetha since we don't know anyone." Sarah August's sister said.

They got looks from everyone.

Girls we drooling over August.

He didn't pay them no mind. He was just there to graduate and get on with his life.

As they walked to the counselor's office he seen a girl so beautiful.

Long black hair, big brown eyes, nice thick body and full pink lips.

She looked right back at him. They quickly looked away. Once they realized how long they had made eye contact.

Jane sat there amazed, who was that? He was so handsome with his brownskin, big lips, defined jawline, and tall self.
