Chapter 1

"I can't believe this is the house you chose mom " I complained as we were unloading our truck.

"You'll love it honey " she said smiling as she look around the house "we can have a fresh start here "

"Fresh start?"I raise an eyebrow at her " mom.....There's nothing but woods in the backyard "

"One of the reasons why I like it " she smiled again "You'll love it soon honey"

"You're crazy "

"I know "

Let me introduce myself to you fellas . My name is Jason Hart and I'm seventeen years old . I have an annoying fourteen  years old sister although I still  love her  . Actually it's only me, my sister and my mother now against the world. We were a happy family once but with our father gone now it left me with the responsibility of being the man of the house  .Our father was a great man,a good father and to sum up things. He was a good husband to my mother.

The night we heard about the accident my mother passed out of shock.she was also hospitalised and stayed there for a day . I was scared that I will lose all my parents together but fortunately our mother woke up later.

It had been a year now since he died and our mother wanted us to move but we waited until my junior year is over so we can move and start as a senior to my new school.

Don't get me wrong. I love my mother a lot and so does she to me but she could be a little insane sometimes.

Anyway, we finish arranging things at sunset and boy I was  tired like shit.

"Good job there honey " mom said pointing to pictures I've hung on the wall "now go freshen up while I'll prepare something to eat and tell Brie not to sleep "

I didn't wait to answer her nor was there anything to say . I ran upstairs to my room and strip off my clothes then jump into the tub.

Unlike my previous room this room has a bathroom inside and the tub .at least there's something I like.note the sarcasm.

After I was done I only put on a vest and some faded jeans ripped on the knees.

"At least now you no longer smell like a bull "

"Mom!"I can't believe she just said that.

"Eat now before the food gets cold " she ignores me " and you young lady...put that phone down"

" I don't even know why you got her a phone mom " I said "I didn't have one until I was like fifteen "

" It's called revolution dummy "Brie stuck out her toung.

"Britney Hart. ...you don't talk to your older brother like that "mom said but still smiling.

" Mom....He started it"

" just start eating "

Something we enjoy most is my mom's cooking. She cooks like nothing you have tasted  before . Every meal by her will left you moaning out of pleasure .we once forced her to start taking small jobs as a chef or make her own restaurant but it's my mother we're talking about. She refused.

"This is good mom " I praise her.I always do.

" isn't it always "Brie interupted.

"Thanks hun"

"Since you said something about fresh start....how about you start your own restaurant "

"I don't know if that's  a good idea son " she said sighing.

" mom it will work out fine "I reassure her "I'll help you out too....you know that"

"Thanks "she said and I can see she wants to cry " I miss him"

Of course she's talking about my father.

"I know mom " I move closer to her and hug her "We miss him too but you  have to be strong for Britney and me mom and dad  wouldn't like us to be depressed forever "

"Thanks " she said wiping the tears " That's why you're my favourite son"

" sometimes I  feel I'm not part of this family "Britney teased but you can see sadness in her eyes.

" Come here " I pulled them in a hug.

" even after shower you still smell horrible "Britney laughed.

" leave it to you to ruin things " I remarked.

" Now head to your rooms kids....tomorrow it's a long day for you two"

"It's early for that you know "

"You guys are enrolling tomorrow and I don't need you to be like zombies for your first days " what?  But we just got here.

"No no no no " I said as if this is a joke " mom. ....We just got here and it's Friday tomorrow "

"So?"

"Who starts school on Friday mom?"Britney cut in also not liking the idea.

"You of course "

"That's lame mom"

"Ok ok " she said.its not often my mother lose an argument.

"Thanks mom " Britney try to pull mom into a hug but with her little strength fai " You're the best"

"I know "she said smiling until her face turn serious " Just don't make it a habit "

"Mom...it's only tomorrow " Britney  said "in fact I don't think they'll be expecting us tomorrow "

"Good " she agrees "what are you doing tomorrow than? "

"Nothing much...I don't know anyone here anyway "

"I know you guys  You'll  make friends soon "

I  ran upstairs to my room and lock it. I got to close the curtains but something caught my eyes but it was too blurry to make out what it was. But it looked like maybe a dog.

Whatever.

I sigh and start thinking about my new home until I drift into a big sleep.
