Lily POV
"Lily! Where are my shoes???". "LILY!!!". That was my sister Petunia was trying to wake me up, which is pretty much impossible. "Lily! I need them! Im going to a party!" I really love my sister, but she is really needy sometimes. As i continued to snooze, she searched every nick and cranny of my room. "LILY WAKE UP! WHERE ARE MY SHOES?" "Mmmm" "LILY!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. Then she shook me with all her might. "I don't have your shoes." i said, then fell right back to sleep. "Ughhhhhh. Your hopeless Lily!" Then she stormed off.
2 hours later.
"That was lovely!" I said as i woke up and started stretching. "Lily dear! Are you awake yet? It's almost 1:00!" My mom shouted as she came up to my room. "Oh good, you awake. Do you want some lunch?" she asked. "Sure. Peanut butter and jelly please!" I said as i got up to take a shower.
In the kitchen
"Hey mom, where's Petunia?" "Didn't you here her complain to you this morning? She went to a party with some of her friends" my mom replied. "You really need to get rid of that sleeping habit of yours Lily" "Why? Its an art" I said laughing. "Whatever you say" said my mom. Then she let me finish my sandwich. I was about to go upstairs when mom said, "Lily? You have a letter from Hogwarts" "Who?" I asked. "Hogwarts." she replied. "Lettme see" I said as she handed it over. I examined it carefully. "What a strange envelope." said my mom as i ripped it open. I took at the letter and read it. "Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore. Dear Ms. Lily Evans, We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins September 1. We await your owl no later than July 31. Yours sincerely, Albus Dumbledore Headmaster."
"Mom, I think I'm going crazy." I said, then handed her the letter. "A... witch? Your.... a witch? I think I'm going crazy too. Diagon Alley? Platform 9 and 3/4? If I'm not mistaken, there is no Diagon Alley or platform 9 and 3/4 in London." "What if there is? What if, i am a witch?" "Don't get your hopes up lily. For all you know, this is a joke" "But, let's say this is real. Would you actually let me go?" I asked, thinking the awnser would be no. "Well of course dear! A witch in the family would be wonderful!" she replied. "Are you serious?" i asked. "Well, we would have to have a talk with the family, but my awnser is yes." I nodded, grabbed the letter, and ran upstairs.
"I must be going crazy!" I said to myself. I re-read the letter over and over again to the point where i almost had it memorized. "This is real?" i pondered to myself. I kept waiting till someone would jump out and yell "surprise!" But no one did. I felt really weird. I just lied down for a a while till the rest of my family came home. Then mom called everyone downstairs. I felt my heart sink. What if my own family wouldn't love me anymore because I'm different? "Lily! Bring the letter!" she yelled. I was nervous, but obeyed. I grabbed the letter from my desk and trotted downstairs.
"Lily has something she would like to share" said my mom, then she looked at me. I held up the letter then said, "Im a witch." My dad and my sister laughed, but my dad stopped when he saw that we weren't joking. "Oh come on dad. You actually believe that they are telling the truth! My sister, a witch! HAH!" said Petunia as she continued to laugh. Me and my mom just looked at her with our serious faces. "Oh come on! My 11 year old sister! The one who can't even get up in the morning? Oh Please! Come on dad? You believe this nonsense?" she asked as she looked at my dad. "Well, we never will know if you continue to laugh." he replied, then looked at me. "Um. Just... read this." i said, and handed him the letter.
"Oh girls. This says platform 9 and 3/4. Theres no such thing. And it says go to London Diagon Alley. There's not a place in London called Diagon Alley." "How about this. All four of us will look for this "dragon alley" and this "Platform 9 and 3/4" and see if its real or not. If we don't find it, we'll just say that the letter was a silly prank." offered my mom. We all agreed, except for Petunia." Im not going. Theres no way i would waste my time on something thats not even real." she said, then stormed out of the room.
The next day i got up right after Petunia did, cause i was so excited. If this was real, that meant i would be a witch!! "Your still wasting your time on that? Well spoiler alert! Its fake." said Petunia as she walked downstairs to get breakfast. I got ready as fast as i could and ran downstairs to meet my parents. "Lily? Your actually awake? You must be really excited!" I nodded really fast and grabbed a banana for breakfast.
Me and my parents drove over to London to look for this "Diagon Alley" We read the directions on the letter very carefully, and we followed it. We tried to locate the "Leaky Cauldron" which was between the bookshop and the music shop. "There it is! The Leaky Cauldron!" I yelled as we approached it. "Lily, there's nothing there." Said my mom. "What? But.. I see it! With my own eyes!" I replied. I walked up to it and read a sign on the door. "Invisible to all muggles" "Mom? What are muggles?" I asked. "There is no such thing as a muggle. Whatever it means." She replied. "I'm going inside. You don't have to follow." I said. "Lily no! You are not going because there's nothing there!" Yelled my dad. But I went inside anyways.
