"There it is again!" Cam said looking around. "That damn cat!" He muttered before turning back to his friend, Weston.
"Maybe he wants food." Weston offered.
"Whatever." Cam said turning back to his card game.
"Alright where were we? Ah Yes! I'm beating you!"
"You are not!" Weston protested.
"But sir, you are wrong." Cam said placing down his cards.
"Bullshit!" Weston yelled throwing down his cards.
Scratch
They both looked at the door. "Ok I've had enough of this!" Cam said angrily getting up and opening the door. "Cat-" he was cut off. Outside his door, was nothing, just the staircase and the hall. His cat was no where to be seen. Cam closed the door quietly and turned towards his friend. Weston just pointed at the bed. He looked at the bed and saw something that made his skin crawl. His cat, Riley, was asleep on the bed. He had been there the entire time. "Then.. what was-"
Scratch Scratch Scratch
Cam backed up to his friend, who rose to his feet. "What the hell is that?" Weston asked nervously.
"I don't know, you heard it too, right?" Cam asked looking at his friend.
"Of course I did!" Weston yelled.
Screech!
They both shuttered as they heard that awful noise. It sounded like a chair was scratching against the floor. Cam grabbed his phone and turned on the flashlight on it. "Let's get to my parents room, theres a gun in there. I think someone's in the house." He said creeping over to the door. Weston followed, not wanting to be left alone in this situation, and scared out of his mind. They slowly opened the door, and peered over the staircase at the darkness of the first floor. It was pitch black down there, except for the soft glow of a street lamp outside. They began to creep slowly down the hall, making sure not to make a sound. But suddenly they heard it, a clicking noise. It sounded similar to high heels clicking along stone or hardwood flooring. This wasn't good. Weston turned slowly towards the clicking. He gasped at the sight before him. Cam turned too and saw. There, climbing up the stairs, was a tall, lanky creature, it had 8 legs with pointed feet like a spider's. It's arms had huge, long fingers with sharp nails that reflected in the light from the bedroom. It had a human face that looked crudely attached to its horrifying body. As soon as it saw the boys, it turned and opened its mouth. Its mouth opened like a flower and had several rows of teeth on each "petal". Its tongue resembled a snake's tongue in the way it shot out at the boys with a terrible shriek. The boys ran for the room. The creature started after them. Click! Click! Click! Click! The clicking, it got imprinted into their minds. They ran into the room and shut the door behind them. "Shit shit SHIT!" Cam yelled rumaging blindly through the draws while Weston barred the door.
The thing scratched and banged on the door forcefully. "Hurry up! It's going to get in!" Weston yelled.
"Found it!" Cam yelled grabbing the gun and turning off the safety. "Move Weston!" He yelled.
Weston ran from the door and the creature busted through, letting out a loud screech and charging at them. Cam fired at the creature, unloading an entire clip into it's head and chest. The creature stood there for a moment, before collapsing onto the ground with a loud hiss that faded into nothing. Silence filled the room, and the house was once again, quiet. Riley darted in past the dead creature on the ground and sat down between the boys, who were staring at the creature they had killed. Cam dropped the gun, with a loud crash. The room filled with silence once more.
