I tugged on my blonde fox ear as I stared at the door in frustration. I really didn't like being home, but I had no choice or say in the matter. I slowly opened my front door, and walked inside. Instantly the aroma of alcohol and marihuana hit my nose. I grimaced at the foul smell, and shoved my purple beanie onto my head, he didn't like it when my ears showed. As for my puffy blonde tail, I had no choice, I've managed to pass it off as a clip on the strangers, but still my father doesn't like it.

I did my best to creep silently into my room, I really didn't want to be beaten tonight. I didn't want my good day to turn into something bad. I didn't want to be sad. I was almost to the steps, when a alcohol bottle slammed into the wall beside me. "Ayame! Where have you been?" Father began, raging towards me. "O-out..." I stuttered scared. "Out where!?" He demanded.

"W-with a f-friend..."

"And what were you doing with that friend!?" He leaned in close to me. "Being a slutty whore just like your mom!?" He ripped my beanie off my head and threw me to the floor. Tears pooled out of my eyes. "Your weak, just like her! He stormed over to me and grabbed my ear and pulled it roughly forcing me up and off the floor. He slapped my across the face. I could taste the blood come from my mouth. "I-I'm sorry..." I apologised. "She's the reason your gone! She didn't want to be burdened by your presence so she went off and killed herself." He hollered. I believed him. "I'm sorry..." I mumbled, scared. My body was shaking. He grabbed my ear and tugged me into the kitchen. He hurled open a drawer, still holding onto my ear, and brought out a lighter. My eyes widened and I struggled to get away from him, only hurting my ear more in the process.

He smirked, and flicked the lighter on and put my ear above the fire burning it. I cried in pain and screamed. He quickly clamped a hand over my mouth, and forced the lighter closer to my ear. "S-stop!" I whimpered out as he burnt the tip of my ear. He let go and I felt relief wash over me. I should've known better though, it wasn't over. He grabbed my other ear and did the same, only this time a little less, he didn't want to deal with my screaming and crying. He threw me on the floor again, knocking my head against the edge of the counter. I hissed in pain as my hand shot to my head, a warm liquid spreading all over my hand.

The smell of blood filled my nose, and I had to stop myself from gagging. Was he done? Of course not... He grabbed a kitchen knife and sliced at my arm, and then tail. He threw the kitchen knife onto the counter and then walked away. "You are a disgrace, a shame! You will always we worthless, a burden!" He yelled slamming the front door shut. I laid on the floor for a while, letting it all sink in. I was in so much pain. I slowly got up, and left the house, it was raining. Of course it would be, just to make my life worse. The rain thankfully helped cool down my burning ears. I knew there would be no blisters, but their would be dead hair on the ends of my ears, my tail had stopped bleeding, there would defiantly be a scar on there. My head was ringing, and I was wandering around aimlessly on the street. Who could help me? "Kurama..." I whispered out to myself. But I didn't want to burden him.

'You will always be worthless, a burden!' My fathers voice rang threw my head. I shook my head and decided I'd handle this myself. I couldn't have Kurama know the truth anyways.

"Ayame?" I heard a voice behind me. It was Kurama... Instantly tears swelled in my eyes, I willed myself not to cry, but apparently I didn't have much of a will... I didn't whine or sob, I just stood there staring at him, tears streaming down my face. He walked up to me, and looked at my burnt ears, cut tail, bleeding head, and bleeding arm. "Who did this to you!?" He asked in a soft demanding tone. I couldn't hold it in anymore. A sob escaped me, and I jumped into his arms crying, but avoiding his question. He hugged onto me tightly, as I cried into my best friends chest. I stepped back, and looked away. "Ayame, who did this?" He asked, calmer. I avoided the question, and looked away. "Who?" He demanded.

I looked into his eyes. "M-my f-father..."
