I had opened my eyes to a bright room, meaning my curtains weren't doing their job. i winced at the pain that the light had caused me. turning my head and looking at the clock.
"well shit," i mumbled and threw my legs off the side of the bed and i just sat there. contemplating weather i really need an education or i could just drop out. after 20 minutes went by i decided it'd be best to go to school considering its my first day. Oh i haven't even introduced myself, Serenity Wallace. My friends back home call me Wren. I'm 17 years old and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. i moved here a couple weeks ago. It sucks moving places in the middle of the school year. Everyone already has their own groups and me walking in halfway through doesn't leave me with a lot of options. i got up and threw on something cute but comfortable. A black crop top with some ripped jeans. I threw my hair up in a high pony and went downstairs. I kissed my mom on the cheek and said good morning.
"Good morning, girly," she coos knowing i hate that name. "excited for your first day?"
"if by excited you mean extremely nervous, then yes i am so excited!" i tell her.
"Come on you'll be fine. they're only 3 months in you make friends soon enough,"
"yes, but soon enough isn't soon enough." i snapped.
"well, just shoot me a text if you need anything but in the meantime get your car keys and head off. You don't wanna be late on your first day!" she said with a smile, then began shoving me out the door.

I pulled up to Darmill high school and take a deep breath.
"This is the first day of the rest of my life, well for the next year." I mumble grab my bag and get out of the car.
I trudged up to the front of the school and open the doors. as i enter the school there are people everywhere. Its loud and noisy and i could barely hear myself think.
