All hell breaks loose at a wedding

Start from the beginning

"You couldn't keep Sarah satisfied as much as my brother could." He smirked.

"What?"

"Damn, you're dumb. My brother had always planned to steal Sarah from you, and he succeeded. Guess the best man won. The Grays aren't all that."

Yep, the shit hit the fan.

Nash hauled off and decked Bryson. As Nixon and Nate tried to separate Nash and Bryson, the wedding got interesting. Mike and Sarah rushed over as the fight intensified.

"Is it true?" Nash asked Mike and Sarah.

"What's true?" Mike asked.

"Were you sneaking behind my back?"

"What? No!"

"Oh?" Nash glared at them with balled-up fists.

"Nash," Sarah said, confirming Nash's question.

He hauled off and hit Mike, causing Mike to crash into the cake.

"My cake!" Sarah said.

"Screw your cake. You're a cheating whore!" Nash said.

She glared at Nash. "I'm glad that we broke up! I don't regret cheating on you! Mike is ten times the man that you'll never be! I knew you had a thing for the neighbor girl. You always stared at her. You're a perv."

Oh, hell, no! I refuse to let her make nasty remarks about Nash. I smacked Sarah across the face.

"Damn!" The brothers said.

"Don't you ever speak that way about Nash! He's more of a man than your husband will ever be!"

"You're nothing but a worthless bitch!"

I lunged at her. We fell into the cake while wrestling. I wanted to rip out her fake hair extensions.

"Get off me!"

We struggled. I got in a few good whacks, and Sarah did too. Then they pulled us apart. Our hair was a mess with cake on our clothes and face.

"Nathaniel, you and your ungrateful brats need to leave," Sarah's father said.

Nate faced him. "Bob, I didn't like you in high school. I didn't like it when our kids dated. I didn't want to come to this abomination that you call a wedding. So, on that note, good luck with the divorce."

We left with Nate and Pat.

"Don't worry about sending us a Christmas card next year!" Pat said.

This evening was a mess. So much for a joyous occasion. Nash got hurt, and I was a big freaking mess. I must admit that it was nice when Nash hit Bryson and his brother. They both deserved it.

I took a shower, cleaning the cake out of my hair and cracks. I put on clean clothes and found Nash lying on my bed while staring at the ceiling.

I sat down next to him. "Are you okay?"

He sighed. "Yeah. I should be angrier than I am, but I'm not."

"How come? Not that I didn't enjoy seeing you get ticked off, but I figure that you would be more upset than you are."

He propped himself. "But I'm not. Yeah, Sarah and I were together. She noticed how I looked at you. Many people knew it, except for me."

"What do you mean?"

He sat up. "When we were younger, I always saw you as my little sister. The pesky sister who wouldn't leave you alone."

"Um, thanks?"

"Come on. I was a kid. You went through your awkward phase. Then one day, you weren't this awkward, pesky little sister anymore. Do you remember when we used to talk at night?"

I smiled at the memory. "Yeah, I was in my bedroom reading, and you saw my light. You asked me what I was doing, and I told you. You started talking to me about books morphing into music and movies. You would always stop by and chat. I had a friend to talk to while growing up. Then, out of the blue, you stopped. I figured you hated me so that I would hate you."

"But I didn't hate you. I liked you. But you were only fifteen, and I was afraid it would cause problems for you. Sarah and I used to fight about it."

Listening to Nash made me remember those nights. I had missed them. Nash and I had become friends because of those nights.

"But Mags, I realized that I had feelings for you. I didn't know how to handle them. How can you be angry when you don't care about that person but someone else? Do you understand what I'm saying?"

"I can understand your point. You never have to worry about me cheating on you." I grinned.

He rolled his eyes, pulling me into a kiss. "You kicked ass tonight."

"I did, didn't I?"

He chuckled.

Mike and Sarah won't ever invite us to their house, and that's fine.
