I open my left eye and looked around. No matter where I looked all I saw was red. The sky was painted red basking in the vibrant colors of the sunlight. Moving my hand to my right I wince, touching the scarred, my left eye, blackened from the battle hurt more than usual. In the corner of my eye I see a flash of movement, a twitch from a ten-foot beast. In a second the jade green dragon's head rolls off from where I cut it. Thump, the head falls quite easily, must have been a child. So that makes 51, I groan to myself. That's how many beings I slaughtered today, men, woman and children dead by my hand. From the rock I sit, I try to get up, but my knees fail me and I fall down, to the bloodstained ground. The peculiar red sun catches me by surprise so I make my position as comfortable as possible. All I can hear is the word monster, repeated over and over again, the anguished screams of the dead haunting me. I remember one dragon, wings as yellow as the sun try to protect the hatchlings, but ultimately failed. Their screams plauge me the most, the little ones who laughed and cried with each other, their wings about to decorate a room somewhere where I felt something wet slide down my cheek. A tear? No that should be impossible. I'm not capable of--. My thoughts get interrupted by a few more drops landing on my cheeks. It's just rain, I sigh in relief. While the rain pours down I lay there, letting the rain wash away the blood around me and all thoughts about the massacre I just committed. I smile as the water flows down the hill, blood still on my hands, blood of some of the strongest dragons ever. I remember what I am, a monster. I hear the screams of anguish that reside in the ground, their vengeful spirits that will haunt me till the day I die. I lay there still for a couple of minutes. When I start to think about the bodies that would follow tomorrows massacre, I drift to sleep, certain the screams would come back to haunt me in my sleep. After all they never seemed to leave me alone.
