flower petals - jaepil [short story]

hana (하나)

wonpil couldn't fall asleep that evening. so he stayed up, and on the middle of the night, he suddenly had a strange urge to cough. like something was stuck in his windpipes. he quickly snuck out of bed and to the bathroom so he wouldn't wake up jae.

wonpil had stayed up that night thinking a lot about his feelings for jae. and even though jae was a dork who liked to make fun of wonpil, wonpil still realised something; he loved jae.

when he got to the bathroom he started coughing rapidly. but he realised, that he was coughing up something. flower petals.

only a week ago, wonpil had read about the hanahaki disease and he didn't believe it was true. but with jae stuck in his mind and the violet flower petals around him, he realised that it most certainly was true.

and with that, wonpil started to cry.
