He smiled at me
Brown eyes bright
Smile wide and white
Charismatic and charming
Hand outstretched
Shook my hand gently
Uttered his name past slender lips
I stood my ground and hide my blush
But my heart didn't stay strong
It pounded and raced
He hit all the right cords
Said all the right things
Now he is trapped in my mind
His laugh when he tells funny jokes
His snicker when he says a bad joke
His giggle when he hears a bad joke
Even his smirk when he teases
I can't get him out of my head
When he has bad days I can tell
The way he looks down eyes half closed
He looks like he wants to run away
When he is happy he smiles all day
He never looks down
The way he says my name
Low and soft
Never with force or harshness
Like if he said it loud it would break
I wish him all the best in the world
Even if that means
He will never love me back
He can take my hand and shake it
I will never tell him how I feel
It's my secret and I'll cherish him
Even if he doesn't cherish me
